Sternjaeger Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 (edited) I've noticed that finally vibrations are implemented in the sim: both the cockpit and the canopy seem to vibrate when in flight. Is it just a view effect or parts do really vibrate? The exhausts for instance should vibrate, especially when pushing the throttle hard. It might sound like a little thing, but it surely adds to immersion! Edited October 29, 2013 by Sternjaeger
Quax Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Please Sternenjaeger, why don´t you try ROF ? It´s free. You could answer most of your questions yourself, and you would see, your suggestions are already implemented.
Sternjaeger Posted November 2, 2013 Author Posted November 2, 2013 I can't install it at the moment because I am waiting for a new gaming rig to be delivered, but as far as I can remember there wasn't a lot of stuff vibrating in the cockpit, it was the "camera view" vibrating?
Quax Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 There is no camera-effect in cockpit view. Can you explain, which effect you mean, Paf ?
FuriousMeow Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Yes, the cockpit vibrates and it's relative to the airframe - also to engine power. So the whole airframe isn't vibrating, but the immediate cockpit. Very noticeable with the Camel. It's not a camera effect where the camera shakes, but the actual cockpit does.
FuriousMeow Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I'm pretty sure that's head shake when maneuvering, not the engine based cockpit vibration.
1CGS LukeFF Posted November 3, 2013 1CGS Posted November 3, 2013 The cockpit vibrates all the time in ROF, whether you're maneuvering or not.
EAF_Paf Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 You can change it in the options while in flight, you will see the difference
Quax Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 @Paf: i found this "Settings - Camera - Shake in Cockpit" now. I never identified this as camera shaking. It looks to me like the instruments are shaking. And it is rather reallistic for me: most shaking on ground on idle power and very subtile inflight. I don't know what other kind of shaking Sternjaeger is looking for. In RL it is only apparent on ground after engine start. It never attracted my attention inflight, no matter which plane. Only in severe turbulence I remember i couldn't read my instruments anymore
Sternjaeger Posted November 4, 2013 Author Posted November 4, 2013 Quax, I'm not looking for shaking, I'm looking for vibration of the aeroplane components.

I think its modeled nicely and gives a good feel for vibrations, BUT parts are not really vibrating and I think thats what Sternjäger thinking about.
