A couple of questions regarding a boxed version

Hello all,I just installed BoS using a disk from a boxed version. I had to do it through steam. This is the only game I have with Steam.

I was very disappointed to find I couldn't launch the game unless I was on line. I see steam has an offline mode, but once I launch then disconnect from the internet the game stops. Is there anyway I can bypass the steam thing and launch the game without being on line? As i'm not always in a position where I have access to the internet.

Also,on the box it says i can purchase additional aircraft at www.IL2Sturnmovick.com, but i'm lead to believe I have to purchase through Steam which should I use?

There's always the actual executable inside the game files, or you can download it from here if you've registered it

Its weird you should be able to launch steam in offline mode without Internet and lauch the game from there. I do it when my connection is down. However you won't be able to play the campaign
