Theoask Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Hi, I don't know if this exists but I believe on can download a configuration file of presets (parameters) in Il-2 BOS (and IL-2 1946 previous too) according to specific joysticks and video cards. Or at least there should be lists of presets according to specific hardware? (joystick video card, Track IR, etc). For example what would be the best settings for my NVIDIA 9800 GT video card and my basic Thrustmaster T-flight Stick X joystick? http://www.thrustmaster.com/products/tflight-stick-x Can anybody send me the information or a file that would make the presets automatic in the game? For example, my joystick throttle presets are quite unprecise, so when I push it up it goes straight from 75% for example to 100% full power...It's not linear...Impossible to go from 100% to 90% for example: it goes straight from 100% power top 73% for example or so... I think you get what I'm looking for... BTW I have a 22 inches PC screen.(brand: ACER). Running Windows 7.

Why 777 has back burner'd a fix for the throttle in the G-2 when it heavily affects managing the engine I am not entirely sure... I remember at one time Han (I believe...) was even defending the non-linear action as "historical"...
6./ZG26_Emil Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 To be honest I really don't have this issue, I can make pretty small changes with my throttle. Are we 100% it's not partly a hardware issue?
Theoask Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 My joystick is fine, and works perfectly with FSX. So it's not a hardware issue I think but I can't be certain (how to make a diagnostic for a USB joystick??) BTW another question (non related to main topic): When I start in Il2 BOS with a Ju-87 parked. I can't turn right or left to align on the runway after starting the engine...I use my joystick rudder real fine with other planes, but with Ju-87 I am unable to steer on the side...I have to add that I was using an SC-1800 bomb attached, the heaviest, but still I should be able to steer the wheels using my joystick rudder... Do you think this might be related to a hardware issue like JG5_Emil said??

I still find it unlikely if you are using the same equipment fine in other simulators. The Game Controllers menu in Windows 7 would likely allow you to monitor the joystick at a standing condition to verify there is no "spiking" on any of the axis. Can you confirm if you were using the G-2 when you experienced throttle issues? When taxiing the Ju87 (especially with heavier loads) be sure to unlock the tail wheel. Roll straight a few feet on the runway and re-lock it when you are ready to start. Edited September 8, 2015 by Space_Ghost

Actually I experience this throttle issue with ALL Il-2 BOS planes, not just the G-2...I would be curious to know if other players have the same problem as me..I mean those using the same joystick as I do...
-TBC-AeroAce Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) The g-2 throttle is a bit touchy but as the engine is limited its pretty much an all or nothing engine i.e.you are either at full combat or cruise power. You don't need to be super accurate with it hence does not bother me. Ps no idea if that's how it was irl Edited September 10, 2015 by [TBC]AeroACE
6./ZG26_Emil Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Take a look at how little he moves the throttle here
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 -snip- The only problem I have with this excerpt is that we can't tell what his input adjustments are doing to the ata.
Sokol1 Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 There G2 throttle behavior is not too different from F4, just the point ATA start change is more ahead - near P1.
Sokol1 Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 (edited) Ops, mix the videos, the correct for G2. The basic difference is the point of throttle course ATA start change. Edited September 12, 2015 by Sokol1

SCG_Space_Ghost Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 -snip- Well documented as always, Sokol. I still don't believe that it proves this historicity of the G-2's throttle behavior, though.
