It should be included to next version of the dserver. As for performance test... we'll perform another test after tuning here and there on base of gathered statistics. 1

Yesterday evening suddenly players get heavy lags including input lags on the Offical DED Normal Server (100-player count). Suddenly my plane was not to maneuver and I had heavy input lags. Problems that I never have! And looked to the other players from my plane it looked like slow motion (Input Lags). And this happend with around 45 players on air? I looked at the statistics to see how many are online and fly. Thats why I known that it was around 45 player max on air where this lags happend. At the same time a message appear " The game will Reset/Restart again "! Did the Offical DED Normal Server run with the new dserver Version or with the old one? Because that are suddenly problems that appear and stay.

The flight model is the same,the guns are the same the only difference is icons. I find the full real servers to be very boring as you can fly for 45 minutes and not even see another plane. I don't know where you were flying, but it does not take 45 minutes lol. Usually you barely make it out of your airfield before you're engaged, or you simply go to the objectives. Something that doesn't happen in Normal because bombers are just cannon fodder due to those icons that are larger than the enemy plane itself. Furthermore, anytime I got in a dogfight on Normal, they knew where I was the whole time so it was head-on after head-on after head-on. Edited September 5, 2015 by Y-29.Silky

The other day I had a flight of 3 IL-2s, one Pe-2, and two I-16s. We got to the objective, blew up a few hangars, got bounced by 4 or 5 Germs, watched most my flight crash, had a 109 that was out of ammo try to ram me for about 7 mins, lost my left horizontal and vertical stabilizer by getting rammed by a 190 on my way back to base (separate from the 109), and then I landed. All this happened in about 25 minutes, so again, the game is what you make it

I don't know, which version is on DED server right now. However we've not planned any tests this weekend. If it is really new version is up now, then different issues are possible, because server version differs from client version: it uses latest sources, while client version is about month old, there were changes in code of several subsystems. However, even if it is possible, it doesn't mean that it was actually caused by version incompatibility. It may be bug or whatever else, it is difficult to tell without more details and information from other players. Some missions on normal are relatively heavy and have big impact on server performance, though. AFAIK, there were no any input related issues on test server during test, we had more than 45 persons for about a half of hour (45 at 21:15, 76 (80 including spectators) at 21:52, when server kicked all players), nobody reported something similar to your experience. The only possible reason I see is that during tests "ping of kick" option was set at 250ms, then it was switched off for another test that day. May be this kicking parameter is not enforced now and slow down is explainable. " The game will Reset/Restart again "! As far as I remember, If server is overloaded it will broadcast chat message "Server is overloaded. Contact server administrator". Was message about restart in chat area or at top of your display? It does not look like what server broadcasts.

Just because don't like. I don't like and prefer don't see any plane to see icons and labels. I did not even try to fly a bomber or IL-2 they see you a mile away with the icons saying ''come shoot me i am here''. I like full real you can sneak in undetected sometimes if you plan your flight well. I consider the icon servers like the old HL ''Fun for all'' servers with fighters going at in infinitely non stop bobbing up and down flying and dying a tad too repetitive for my play style.. It is ok if you like that type of server it was the most popular type of servers on the HL you might attract the players to this game too.

Yesterday I get the similar problem again. This time it was not that long around a second or less and disappear. I was hunting a plane at this moment. This player had a ping over limit. He was kicked after some time because he had ping over limit but only one times. Soon after the server kicked him he just join again and stay a long time. How is that possible. If more players than one join with a ping over limit and server not remove them fast as possible. Maybe this forced the slowdown that I had. If ping over limit force slowdowns for other players. And I was near to people with ping over limit. Now I see where the slowdows comes from. It has nothing to do with the 100-player count. On this 100-player count server I had moments where needed to reboot the game because the Game UI failed. Just a example: Joined a Game and during the Gameplay I wanted to adjust some Settings ( Key Mapping ). After that I hit the Accept Button nothing happend. I see my cockpit and fly but I was still inside the Key Mapping Settings and ESC doesn't worked, too. This is a very old problem that I had only with Game Version 1.007. It was the first time that this appear again but this time on a 100-player count server. As far as I remember, If server is overloaded it will broadcast chat message "Server is overloaded. Contact server administrator". Was message about restart in chat area or at top of your display? It does not look like what server broadcasts. Was a very long message from the left corner to the right corner. The color from this message was a red one and this message appear at the top. Maybe this message what have said it was. The time what you said fit the timeline +- where I had my issue. I don't read this long message to his end. I was prepared to left the game because it was unplayable at this moment for me.

Two of my squad (including me) have had massive issues not to mention seeing people getting ping warnings and kicked. The other day I experienced it myself with a stable speed tested and ping tested connection of 100 Mb down and today on the WOL server with only 25 people I was seeing people warping all over the place.

taleks Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 There will be another test tomorrow (Tuesday) for about 2 hours starting from 21:30 Moscow Time. The test is planned to consist of two sessions (with different dserver settings), each session will have the same map as in previous test + one of Wings of Liberty maps. Player limit is 75 this time. Both Wings of Liberty and Normal server will be shut down during test. Feel free to heat up server CPU once more.
