SAG Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Hi everybody! ill try to make this as straight-forward as possible i Want to buy into BOM premium edition but unfortunately it is not available on steam so here is my problem: currently the USD is very high where i live, one dollar is now 3107 COP (as of right now) as opposed to the 1800 COP it was at the begining of this year! Im very very excited about BOS/BOM with the new planes, new maps and new features! and want to help support the Devs (and expand my plane-set). soo, as a student with a part time job, money is not something i can just throw away! So here is the deal: i have a friend who came across a couple of rare items while playing DOTA 2 and now has some good amount of USD on his steam account. he is willing to "sell" dollars to me at 2000 COP but BOM is not on steam!! so if anyone is interested in buying something from Steam for the amount of 80 USD (BoM Premium price) , maybe I can buy it for you, send it to you and you can "gift" me BOM? i know this is a long shot and i dont want to sound Picky but i will only do the exchange with someone who is active and "known" at least on the forums (that is if anyone is interested at all XD ) since i just dont want to loose the little money i have :/ . Maybe someone from the BOS Benevolent Foundation? (or someone that they recommend?) If this sounds sketchy or gimmicky to you, please just ignore the post i dont want to spend 5 days on a "you send first" argument. Thanks in advance and Hope that someone shows up! (im not the most known person on the forums, but ive been around and im getting good hours lately now that i know i need to get better before the temps get hotter during summer. i usually am on the official TS on the first Allied english sub-channel when i can, and most certainly there at 1:30pm GMT-5 on saturdays flying with some pals) S! and happy almost P-40 days!
wtornado Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I here you too I have stopped buying stuff too the exchange rate is too high here at 30%. The Canadian dollar nosed dived when the oil prices plummeted. So I am sitting on my wallet. The Battle of Stalingrad deluxe version is selling for 99.99$ Cdn right now in Steam. Crazy considering I paided a little over half that when the Cdn dollar was high

Crazy considering I paided a little over half that when the Cdn dollar was high Yeaah its getting to a point where its just poitnless to buy new stuff. with this USD is going to become very expensive to buy not only through the internet but in physical stores once existing stocks are replaced with merchandise imported with current rates. so bye-bye butkicker XD and PC upgrades lol
Sokol1 Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Same situation in this "corneroftheworld", almost 70% up on dollar exchange in a year, the impact on wallet in buy a "80$" game is the similar of someone on EUA/Europe buy 4/5 DCS planes at full price. Which has helped is STEAM regional prices, in this last sales the "standard" are sold there for ~ "20$". Now is wise not buy games by impulse, save the money and await sales.

Steam regional prices? never heard of them, care to ellaborate? :D
Sokol1 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 (edited) What I know is for some world regions STEAM use different prices,* and the daily price is not based in actual dollar exchange ratio. Due this games purchased from local STEAM come with a warning about the game can be activated only in some countries. Today, buy the Premium edition of BoS on local STEAM mean pay 10.88$ less - in local currency - than in IL-2 store (and buy there mean pay additional 6.38% of local taxes over international credit card transaction). * This don't work for all games, e.g. the blockbuster Fallout 4 there is the one of the most expensive of the world.
