Did they change how river banks look in the last two patches?

I think the river banks were changed in the patch that gave us the I-16. The river bank was darker and river were a lot easier to spot.

Yesterday I realised that now the rivers look like they were before. Much harder to spot them from the snow.

Did anyone else notice this?

Yeah, they changed it back. I liked darker river bank colour, it was so clear to see.

It's looks better now. It looked too cartoonish before in my opinion. Just preference.

I don't mind it. When I look for things to navigate off of, I'll pick roads, towns, or airfields. After all, one windy ice covered river looks like another  :P

I mainly use forrest patches and train stations for navigation also.

Talking about rivers, in Dev Diary 99.99 Zak talked about 'new river technology that is being developed for the summer Stalingrad'.

What is that supposed to mean?

It might be the reflective or appearance of the water

I think that is referencing the 'water tech' from RoF Channel Map being implemented on the Volga ;)

Hope not. Those crystal clear, deep blue waters of the RoF's English Channel would best be saved for a Pacific expansion.

They have really good tech from what I saw - So I do hope they use it. If it's as good as I think it is then they can do wide rivers as well as they can do the English Channel.

I don't know about Russia in the area of BoS but in the US in the summer most rivers have the color of mud, at least around here in the mid-west.

I agree with you Gnome, the rivers and waterways where very "cartoon" like prior to the latest patch. Personally, I'm glad they changed the way they looked back. It would be hard to spot frozen over, snow covered rivers and lakes. The "Disney" eyeliner treatment was a step too far IMO.

Looks relatively "blue"  by the looks of it.

But ROF's water tech is an existing one. Zak talks about a 'new river technology'.

Perhaps I make too much a  semantic matter out of it. Or it really adds something to the way rivers appear.

We will see. :)
