So I mapped the little throttle control on my stick and now my planes make counterclockwise circles on the runway. To go straight I have to floor the right rudder and bank the stick hard right. Once I'm airborne if I let it go back I roll around and crash.

It sounds to me like you have another axis/key bound to the same axis/key.

If you look carefully at your control mapping, an orange box should indicate multiple keys maps, hovering mouse over it will show which functions are assigned

You guys are right about the keymapping. Somehow a whole lot of things got remapped but not by me. I reset everything and even now there is still weird things happening. If you turn on AI autopilot he ditches the plane straight away and once you turn on the autopilot it wont turn off again. Also when I start a mission i select a skin and some unlocks and then when the mission loads and I start I have stock plane. Idk Im starting to think maybe my install got corrupted somehow.

Ok so now the stick is working fine. My autopilot is working and my mates arent bailing out after takeoff anymore. Now I just get random crashing to the desktop. Im getting better though. I actually shot down a G-2 yesterday.

G-2 is a weird way to spell LaGG-3...

That's what you meant, right? Right? Right..?  :cray:

I'm mainly a VVS guy.I do play the German side as well though. Every time I go after Pe-2s in my 109-F4 I get sent down in a ball of fire.

I avoid the PE2 at ALL costs! The rear gunner is a terminator cyborg.

Which is strange because I hover around in the middle of a He-111 formation turn fighting with them in my LaGG and maybe sometimes get pilot injured or fuel leaks or engine smoking or something but never caught on fire or instantly murdered.

This could actually result from the fact that the Mg17 had a slower firing rate.

The comparable Soviet MGs of the time had incredibly fast firing rates - the ability to put more lead downrange in a shorter period of time means that you're probably being struck by nearly double the rounds if they manage to land a solid, square two second burst.
