Will there be smoke from the exhaust when starting up?

Probably this is more the norm. That one you had looked like the cylinders were loaded with oil.

What I woud also love is to have a temporary and visible exhaust trailing behind a plane punching into full throttle.

Seen it on actual WWII guncams and warbirds at today's airshows. No ?

Seriously though, smoking was outlawed, evidently something to do with it being bad for your health.
