334th_L0C0 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 S~ Not sure if this has been asked yet.. ...And it may sound like a silly question to some, but others will know why I ask. Are there "Ghost Trees" in ROF? If my plane hits ANY tree in the new IL2:BOS, will it do damage to my plane, or are they "Ghost Trees"? Please tell me that it has been said officially that they do damage. And Please, don't answer, if you don't know, as guesses just won't do. Thanks.

As for whether there has been any 'official statement' that BoS trees have the same ability to convert a perfectly flyable plane to scrap wood/metal/canvas, I'm not sure, but I'd be very surprised if they didn't... TyphoonOneB Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Every tree is collidable. I hate ghost trees in flight sims cause it just takes away the fact of actually trying to avoid them.

LLv34_Flanker Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 S! Trees are indeed very unforgiving in RoF. No ghost trees there. Same is in WarThunder, trees kill you. Was quite a dissapointment in another sim that trees were there just for eye candy and gave quite a performance hit.

clayman Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Yes they sure are, clip them all the time. Just the other night I was watching this very effect. I ended up splayed spectacularly in a tree after a FLAK hit ... then sat there in wonder as I slowly slid to the ground. I remember thinking how the physics in ROF is so well rendered, and how trees and so many other things have evolved way beyond my own speculation. AND this is an another reason I trust 777 in the development and upkeep of BoS. I did this to support BoS .... getting to fly 3 days during the week is just a bonus in my book ... I want a "finished product" this time around by a name I know can deliver, some I trusted before didn't, and worst ... still released it. Nothing was stated in advance. And that in itself is a point many are missing.
