jeanba Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 (edited) Hello Until few months ago, if I wanted to replay a campaign mission, I used to change the name of the last _gen files, move them in a directory under "missions" and then I could replay it as a single player single mission. Now, I cannot do it anymore I tried to open / save the mission in the editor, but it does not work Do you have an idea ? Thank you in advance Edited August 21, 2015 by jeanba
LLv24_Zami Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 It worked for me just last night. Saved as a single player mission.
jeanba Posted August 21, 2015 Author Posted August 21, 2015 (edited) Thank you for the info, lucky man How did you do : did you change the name of the mission ? Edited August 21, 2015 by jeanba
LLv24_Zami Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Thank you for the info, lucky man How did you do : did you change the name of the mission ? No, I just changed mission type to the single with mission editor. Just tested it with another mission from campaign and it works. Maybe there is some bug that caused your problem. I suggest you try it again.
jeanba Posted August 21, 2015 Author Posted August 21, 2015 I did not change mission type : maybe this is it, I will recheck at home
DD_Arthur Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 WUT!!!!! You can save campaign missions and replay them?
jeanba Posted August 21, 2015 Author Posted August 21, 2015 Yes, in the missions directory, they are called "_gen ..") You must create a directory and move them here But well, do not work anymore for me ...
LLv24_Zami Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 WUT!!!!! You can save campaign missions and replay them? Yes, you can do that with mission editor.
jeanba Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 Zami I opened the mission in the editor and changed mission type to "sinngle player", but it did not work
LLv24_Zami Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 (edited) Zami I opened the mission in the editor and changed mission type to "sinngle player", but it did not work That`s strange. Tested it again and it works for me. Maybe some of those ME experts at the mission maker thread can help you. You could try to ask for help there. Edit: Did you change the name of the mission and saved it to the data/missions folder? Edited August 22, 2015 by Zami
Picchio Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I have one question, slightly off-topic: has anyone tried editing a campaign mission and changing the player's plane to be another than the leader's? Does it work?
Cybermat47 Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I have one question, slightly off-topic: has anyone tried editing a campaign mission and changing the player's plane to be another than the leader's? Does it work? I'd like to know this too. I'd like to not be the leader for a change
Picchio Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Made a quick test; it's definitely possible, although certain mission triggers have to be edited. For example, if the new leader gets killed, the mission will end. Also, all the mission's entities are linked to him. Can this be changed quickly, as in re-linking entities to the player? I need to look further into it, but I don't know if it's worth it...
Picchio Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I can confirm it works. Still, mission's entities remain linked to plane # 0; I guess there won't be issues as long as the leader gets to the Action Point, allowing the spawn trigger for enemy planes (the objective, in case of an intercept mission) to work as it should. Now it would be nice to understand how the group can be positioned in parking areas and not on the runway, for a proper cold start...
jeanba Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 Edit: Did you change the name of the mission and saved it to the data/missions folder? Actually, I changed the name and copied it to a specific folder (data/missions/jeanba) and then opened it with the me Anyway, here it is : Yak1 vs transport.zip I am missing something : Are you actually loading the initial "gen" file ?

I unzipped your mission to the data/missions folder and it works right away in BoS. Yes, I load gen file with ME, then change it to single player and rename it.
jeanba Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 Ok, I did exactly as you did : One mission was ok, the second was not I think I have to consider a reinstall or ssomething like this Thank you anyway zami, you helped me a lot !

coconut Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I think I have to consider a reinstall or ssomething like this Try deleting mtreecache.eng in data/ first. This caches the single-player mission tree. If it contains incorrect data, forcing the game to recompute it might help.
jeanba Posted August 23, 2015 Author Posted August 23, 2015 Thank you coconuts, that was it ! Note : mtreecache;eng was under data in my install
