Seed when downloaded .... turning it off ?

How do you turn off the "Seed when downloaded" option off permanently. This check box is enabled every time I start BOS even if it has been de selected previously

Could be win 7 issue from being installed in 'program files' and windows read only permission bug, Cut and paste IL-2 outside of program files, avoids many problems

Thanks Dakpilot .... it is outside program files. Looking at file dates startup.cfg is changed every time I crank up BOS. This is only started happening recently.

Having same problem it wont turn off , i start from luncher , i have to manually turn off each time i start the game ..??? since last patch . game is outside programs .

Turns out my startup.cfg was corrupted. The very last section should read:

 

 

[KEY = updater]
      enable_udp = 0
      language = "eng"
      locales = "rus,eng,ger,pol"
      p2p_port = 6881
      seed = 0
      web_distribution = 1
[END]
 

This whole section was missing in my file. Now works as advertised.

Just add a shortcut to Il2.exe on your desktop. You will not need the launcher anymore, except for some settings and updates.

 

IL2.exe is in the folder bin/game. I have done this since the early access with no problem.

Glad you found it. I did a bunch of testing last night and could not replicate your problem.

I've long wondered what the Restarter.exe is and how it differs from either IL2.exe or Launcher. Obviously it doesn't bring up the Launcher program. I usually will check after each patch to make sure seeding isn't checked but otherwise I don't use it. Other than that, it starts the program just like the other two .exe. Does anyone know?

Same problem happened to me.  Your solution fixed it.  That's a big up from me
