CTD and Me

1. I exit out of a quick mission, I crash to desktop.
2. I end a single player mission, I crash to desktop.
3. I try to watch a replay, I crash to desktop.

4. I get to watch a full replay and exit back to the main menu, I crash to desktop.

5. Server mission ends on multiplayer multiplayer, I crash to desktop.

6. I exit back to the main menu, I crash to desktop.

7. Every single time I press the 'Exit' button to quit the game, I crash to desktop.. (Which is ironically funny and sucks because I have to Ctl.Alt.Del everytime because it's not responding.)
8. I've been trying to write up an AAR for Veteranens Missions for over a week now but I can't do it because.....

After launch, alt tab back out to the launcher and close it.  That's what worked for me, anyway.

Yeah, if you can avoid the launcher, you might have a smoother experience.

 

Just create a shortcut to the game, or use Steam.

I'll try that. Never really had problems with CTD's, but after the last patch its driving me nuts now. Sometimes I cant even land and finish a sortie before the game crashing. That and the random CTD's while watching recorded tracks.

I just crashed half way through a mission. MP is more stable than SP for me. This is getting to be too much, I can see why some people quit this game altogether for the time being.

You bring up a few good points. As mentioned above, I rarely crash during MP which is where I always see you.. But any SP mission and recorded tracks I crash.

I fly mp only and am experiencing many more CTDs than I did a few months ago.  I would estimate one every hour of flight time.  I use SweetFX 2, not sure if that could be a conflict.  I no longer use a terrain.cfg.

After the last patched have experimented with an annoying frequency frozen screen in both the MP and the SP. I need to use ctrl + alt + del to leave the sim.

I've noticed several CTDs myself, playing QMB missions for gunnery practice over the last couple of weeks.  Not every time or anything, but several of them (usually after having flown 4 or 5 missions in a row and then exiting) since the last patch after not seeing any for quite a while.

 

I'm not using SweetFX/Reshade or anything unusual for these sessions, so I'm not sure why the CTD frequency has ticked up like it has.

I'm getting some too, disabling reShade mitigated the problem to some extent but it still occurred again but after a longer period.
