viktorkm89 Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 HelloI dont have a track IR so I have to solve the head movement in another way.Any good solutions?right now I can look around on the cookpit with my mouse, but Im not able to move from side to side, up and down or forward backwards.Doesent seem to be able to attach that to the mouse.I wanted for example hold left mouse, move it forward = so that the camera in the cockpit starts moving forward. the same but from side to side. But it doesent seem to reckognize that command in the game.
Sokol1 Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) The question is, the game only accept as modifier the keys Alt, Ctrl, Shift, Win (L/R), not mouse buttons (or any key/joystick buttons like DCS/CloD). What you can do in GUI is assign mouse left and mouse right buttons to lean for left and right, and perhaps mouse middle for reset the view (center). Or: Set a modifier (e.g. LAlt) + Mouse X (axis) to move the camera POV for left (lean left), and using a external keymaper (what require a joystick, so no way if you are a "mouse/keyboard pilot"), set the left mouse click to press the LAlt, same for other moves. You can combine modifiers, e.g. LAlt+LCtrl+Mouse X, and use mouse middle+mouse left for send the both modifiers. Probable this will require set another key/button for fire gunner MG other than left mouse click, or weird things can happen when firing the MG. You dont have a joystick with POV HAT switch? With HAT you can pan around like with mouse, and using a modifier lean the POV to right/left, move up/down. Edited August 20, 2015 by Sokol1 1
kissklas Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Back when I used the joystick HAT switch for head movement, I used HAT for rotation and LCtrl and Lshift + HAT for movement and zoom. It worked quite well. Then you never have to take your hand of the stick. If you then have a button close to the thumb mapped as center view, you can easily align your head back to the sights when needed:)
Sokol1 Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) Well, testing this there I see that the issue is not the modifier, is that these lean functions (right/left, up/down...) dont accept axis input, only key or button. I test with joystick axis (besides mouse X axis) and despite assigned in GUI in game don't work. What is strange because with headtrack (TrackIR, Freetrack...) this lean is done with axis... So the idea of modifiers + mouse X is not valid. Sorry. Edited August 20, 2015 by Sokol1
indiaciki Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm it really works great. all you need is a webcam Edited August 20, 2015 by indiaciki
viktorkm89 Posted August 21, 2015 Author Posted August 21, 2015 Hmm I need to see in to this. Good to know which buttons is for modifiers, and that its not possible with an axis movement. That webcam tracker seems intresting, dont have a cam at the moment
indiaciki Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Any webcam will do. It really works with all sim. You don't have to activate it in the sim. Just start tracknoir before you start the sim.
