Hey, I was hoping someone would do a "how to" to glide bombing. I have trouble hitting anything when I try this, and would like to become better. Of course, I'm not sure what I should be doing and that's part of the problem.

Maybe this helps?  :salute:

Its for the old IL2, but the theory doesn't change I guess.

cheers!

PS: The bombing part comes at the end!

Hello Kai_Lae,

What sort of target are you going for , tanks or artillery ?

Practice offline with a larger target; bridges, major building, end of a runway, etc. Make tracks and review them immediately afterwards to track your progress. Then work your way down to smaller targets as you improve; arty emplacement, aircraft revetments, etc. Tanks are tough to destroy, even with a bigger bomb, because they are so small and armoured.

From my experience with soviet PBP1 gunsights,to bomb correctly and with more than 80% chance to hit what you aim for,I always put the target at the crossing of vertical line and bottom of outer ring. And ofcourse it requires a lot of practice and bit of luck as well  ;)

Both, really. I just mostly miss now, so trying to learn to become consistent. I've seen the video linked, it's good, but was hoping someone (Requiem?) might update it for BOS.

Tanks are tough nuts to crack even more so when they are moving.

I would line up early and make sure the aircraft is trimmed for you attack speed so you don't keep having to pull or push the stick to keep on target. Then as suggested watch the recording to see the timing of your bomb release view and the final effect.

You could put a post to Requiem on his youtube channel, I am sure he will do a good job although the basics are still in darts older video

Well hoping that we get new videos for the BOM aircraft soon. Also, we could use some training missions where you start in the air and some ground targets are below that you could practice on. Might have a go at seeing if I can make them myself now that I think of it.
