IL2 and IL2/CLOD/ROF comparisons

 

Cliffs of Dover

 

ROF

 

Banana forums and any existing feuds

 

The game engine and DX9

 

 

This game is a completely different beast from the above and this forum already seems full of hate, anger, disbelief and impatience - 6 threads locked already.  Let's see what the updates bring, what the program engine shows us, how the gameplay will work and what the pricing structure will be.  Then we can hopefully have some form of rational though maybe impassioned discussion about what we'd like if it is different from what we have been given. 

 

Let's have a holiday for a while. and think carefully about what we say, and if we need to say anything at all.  Especially after any update.  Keep it constructive and without bile.

You know Hood, that sounds great and I wish it would be so but there are some people who just can't stop doing what they've been doing all along. I'm afraid that list of "stuff to leave behind" is just going to grow. I'll give you a +1 for effort though!

Been trying to be a good boy and have stayed out of the ugly threads so far per my first post. There are people just plain upset about the situation and they are going to vent....not much can be done about that.

But it can with a little effort on everyone's part.  Ok we'll have the odd little argument but as long as we can get past it we'll be ok and relatively harmonious.

It would be such a relief.

 

But firm moderation goes a long way. It's a bit like a houseguest. If you invite them in and they insult your hospitality, you kick 'em out.

I agree with the OP. Cannot believe the aggressiveness among some posters. The tone in this forum has gotten really ugly after the first half day, with lots of people employing a totally over-the-top shrill tone... "Come on, get real!" "How can you even think that!?" "Ridiculous!!!".... I mean, what is happening here? It is really quite unpleasant to have all this *shouting* polluting just about every thread.

Enough - this is the way it all goes wrong.  I'm not having a go at you Bongo, just using you to show my point.

 

Step back, deep breath and calm - don't respond even if it's provocative what someone says.  It doesn't mean the loudest will win.
