grphx card advise

hi i have a ddr2 mother board 

a 5670 gphx card now

a Q9450 2 quad cpu  ON 2.66GHZ

3.5 ram

i dont wanna spend top dollar maybe up to 290 pounds

so im thinking a 270x radeon amd ati  thats a budjet grphx card it will be good for rof also

but im mainly a bos guy

any tips can i have a few reponces

my budjet is under £300

In theory good choices in that price range would be R7 370, R9 380 and R9 390 and GTX960 and GTX970. These are all inside your budget. The thing is if you get GTX970 or Radeon R9 390 you will end up bottle necked by cpu. Maybe GTX960 would be a good compromise and also usable later on, if you upgrade your computer. Same goes with R9 380.

It depends also if his stock PSU can handle the extra Watt.  Think considering his budget, maybe it is better to go for an expensive high performance Vcard that is lean on power consumption.  Do a PSU power calculation [=Google] .
