Finkeren Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Went today with the family and my brother-in-law and nephew. Was pleasantly surprised at how excited the kids were. Even the wife had fun I took some pictures. I only had my old phone and I am not a good photographer, so don't expect anything like what some other guys here have posted. Not a single of the in-flight pics turned out even remotely acceptable. Anyway, I promised in another thread, that I'd post pictures, so here goes: Spitfire Mk. XVI A horrible bastardised Yak-3 airframe P-51D 'Rote Sieben' DC-3 1
Dakpilot Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Nice, but is that Yak 3 just a Yak 11, quite a few of the Yak 3's flying today were created/re-engineered from Yak-11 , they shared many airframe similarities Cheers Dakpilot 1
Finkeren Posted August 15, 2015 Author Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) No Idea why that Spitfire pic came out upside down Here's the pic turned around right: And a few more: Whatever this is... The four Texans/HArvards gave a good show. As did these adorable little Chipmunks. These guys made it their mission to drive around making sure people didn't pay attention to the show Three of the reasons, a plane like Rote Sieben is such a rare sight today And finally: My two-year-old with her very first scale model WW2 warbird. I had promised myself I wouldn't buy her anything, but when she picked out an La-5FN all by herself (from quite a broad selection) I just had to give in Nice, but is that Yak 3 just a Yak 11, quite a few of the Yak 3's flying today were created/re-engineered from Yak-11 , they shared many airframe similarities Cheers Dakpilot Ah ok. Good to know Glad they didn't maim a real Yak like that. The airframe itself looks the part though. Edited August 15, 2015 by Finkeren 1
Heliopause Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Nice pics, Whatever this is... Ryan trainer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_ST
Feathered_IV Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Fantastic photos. Your daughter has excellent taste too. Thats the smallest La5 I've seen, is it a known scale? I only ask as I'm rather partial to 1/144th...
Finkeren Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 Yeah it's to scale (And rather precisely made for such a small cast metal model) Strangely, the models made by that company came in a wide variety of scales which were all fairly close to each other. The La-5 I bought was in 1:103 while the Yak-3 of the same series was in 1:113.
