Hi Sharp, I've asked a couple of friends to test, and both had downloaded without problems... and just now I made a test by myself, and it's working   ;)

Hi folks,

a friend of mine, and italian researcher, Pierluigi Moncalvo, that write a book on units badge of R.A., pointed that the Mag. Filippi's aircraft had the unit name "3° stormo CT" on the wasp insigna, and provided me a sample.

So, I've updated the skin with the correct insigna.

The links for the download are the same  ;)

After seeing the works in this topic, it made me want to try ... I've got a copy of Photoshop, and now I present my first two jobs (be patient, I’ve had Photoshop only for a month, and still I've a lot to know…    )

The first is the plane of the Magg. Luigi Filippi, Commander of the 23rd Gruppo Caccia of the 3rd Stormo, based at Hel Hemma, in Tunisia, in February 1942.

The second is the plane of Serg. Guadalberto Benzi, of 396 ° Sq. 154 Gruppo, based in Rhodes-Gadurrà, summer of 1943.

Now I’m forced to stop, the "trial version" of Photoshop has expired yesterday, and I have to get a new one …  ;)

Hi gents, there is my third skin.

This time I've reproduced the aircraft MM. 7821, Cap. Emanuele Annoni, commanding the 96a Squadriglia, 9 Gruppo, 4° Stormo, in Fuka.

This aircraft was destroyed on landing September 19, 1942 by Hauptmann Hans Joaquim Marseille, who wanted to try in flight, and the flight ended with a belly landing, maybe for problems with the throttle, that in italian aircraft was reversed.

Hope you like it.  ;)

Great work!

Here is my last work... this time is an aircraft of the 70a Sq., 23° Gruppo, 3° Stormo, based at Cerveteri, for the defence of Rome, summer 1943.

This is a late series aircraft build by Breda, with the tast camouflage pattern in Breda style. After the fall of the fascist regime in july, 25, all fasci's insigna were removed from aircraft, even from the Royal badge on the tail.

Hope you like... ;)  for the download, here is the link

It's the first time I see a MC 202 without fascist symbols ... you never stop learning.
The magnificent livery, a leopard definitely envy, is decidedly exalt silhouette of this
fascinating airplane.

Thanks Pag!

Many Many thanks

Now for the cheeky part, the first Croat skin............................ would it be easy to make the topside more grey with a little less wear like the original image?

Not a biggie but if it was a 5 minute job I'd love it as a variant, but it is icing and froth I love what you have given us (me in particular) and do not want to seem ungrateful

Did I say THANK YOU

Two more skins... the first one is the personal aircraft of the Commander of 153° Gruppo Autonomo CT, Magg. Andrea Favini, in Sciacca, Sicily, sept. 1942, with the Group number in Roman characters.

The second one is the aircraft of 356a Sq., 21° Gruppo, Russia, 1942. This particular machine has had the fin, probably damaged, replaced with that of a C.200 of the same unit.

Here is the links:

Some images as reference, for the 356-3

The different fin is clearly visible; in the third picture, the aircraft is photografed in Italy, after is return from Russia.

The fin it's still the one of the C.200, this time with the coat of arms painted

I had already downloaded it Sabot, magnificent... how ever... Is this correct?

http://img.wp.scn.ru/camms/ar/920/pics/32_44.jpg

because unless it's mirrored in your picture, or the picture I found is wrong, the 378 should be on the other side of the white stripe and the 4 where the 378 is currently?

No need to apologize thanks for giving us all some different clothes to wear.

I'm keeping both historically correct or not

This is not a historical skin. This is not an accurate skin. This is not a good looking skin. But if you like the PTO as much as I do, and you want to hunt some Japanese planes with your P-40, the install this in the Macchi folder, and you'll have some fake Tonys   :salute:

Nice work Reflected :salute:

Reminds me of my Lagg-51 skin I made a while ago. Might be an idea for the future.

BTW. The Japanese also had an E-7. So basicly we have 4 (more or less) valid planes for a pacific szenario.

WoW! Nice work!  :)

I'ts the first time I see a Japanese Macchi, and' i'ts beautiful! (by the way, it was a beautiful aircraft... ;) )

Really it's resemble a Ki-61...

Here's my last work... it's the plane MM 7948 - serie I - Breda, of 168Sq., 18°  gruppo, 54° Stormo.

This aircraft during his lifetime had the left wing replaced with that from a Macchi built aircraft (wit "smoke ring" camouflage)

I made the two variants, you can download here:https://www.dropbox.com/s/8pgpmu8ozcy2ubc/168_11.rar?dl=0

Nice work Pag. Like usually :) Only two things - please correct numbers on fuselage, on your skin are different a bit from original numbers (see on picture) + correct position of numbers on white stripe.

And have a question - you've got a side view on original plane? I ask because I have never seen this type of camo with elongated blue from the exhaust (I'm building now MC.202 (Hasegawa 1/48) and choose some interesting camo  ;) )

Posted

Thx Baron, I think I've seen only these two pictures above, but when I come back to home I'll make some research..

The Camo it's typical of first series built by Breda, in Italy is unofficially know as "serpentelli", that stand for "little snakes", from the shape of blotches...

Posted (edited)

Ok Baron, I've found this image.. it's the same aircraft, as You can see matching the blotches.

The picture is taken after the replacement of the left wing.

Tell me if You want others pictures of different aircraft with the same camouflage  ;)
