Weegie Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Hi geraki9 I still get the same message as before What you need to do after making the folder containing the skins is exit out of the folder then move your mouse over it. You should then see a box on the right marked "Share" Click on that and pick the option Send Link. This will then give you a link which you can copy and paste onto the forum. I don't think just highlighting the link from the top of your browser will work, maybe that's why some of us are having a problem. If I see anything that is worth commenting on I will, but I think the skins look great, I'll leave it to more experienced skinners and those with a deeper historical knowledge than me to provide constructive criticism
geraki9 Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Ventus you're right. The links I gave Dropbox clicking on "Share" are different.I assumed it was my fault ...I hope these below are accessible to all. Many thanks!! 4SCT_Vespa Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Nice skins geraki9 About the 1-378 skin, the Light Hazelnut Brown patches were a bit smaller then in your skin, leaving more and irregular Dark Olive Green room between each patches I have to say that your paintscheme was used since there is a picture of a C.202 of Magg. Filippi, C. of 23° Group ( 3° Stormo) that shows those unusual rings... About the Macchi C.202 86-8, in my humble opinion, the insigna and numbers on white-strip should be a bit bigger. About text on tail....there is no photographic evidence or documentation that proves the yellow color...for what we know the text on fuselage and tail about model and weight were painted in Light Blue or gray light blue or black, lately in white. 1
Sunde Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 So many great skins here, thanks guys! And just wanna know, is anyone making this skin?

Thanks 4SQ Vespa for constructive comments! As you know the photographic material is not available is absolutely sufficient to meet our demanding needs, so sometimes you are determined on deductions result of more or less right. Besides pictures in b / w do not help us and those few Color, films made with Ferrania, confuse us. The most correct way would not achieve, if not it is in possession of evidence but pragmatic, passion it leads us to want too ... For example to 86-8 Visconti some say that was a SAI Ambrosini V series but, camouflage and pattern it would demonstrate a freshman Breda series I. He will have had both? It would be worthwhile to try with a seance! I will check the RGB color well, so how will I for your other comments. Thanks again! Grazie ancora! Ciao...geraki
4SCT_Vespa Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Thanks to you geraki, I really appreciate your efforts and skin and it's a pleasure to provide some help to improve your artwork. About the 86-8 M.M. 7944, it's a I Serie Breda 86^ Sqd. 7° Gruppo, 54° Stormo ( Pantelleria ) probabily the picture was taken in may/june 1942. As you can see the aircraft doesn't have cooling slots nor cockpit air inlet so it cannot be a Serie V; SAI Ambrosini started production in late 1942 (july-agoust 1942 MM 7959 - 8008 / october 1942 IV Serie MM 7409 - 7458) The pilot in picture should be the Capt. Pietro Calistri even if Adriano Visconti too flew that machine
geraki9 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Thanks to you geraki, I really appreciate your efforts and skin and it's a pleasure to provide some help to improve your artwork. Pietro Calistri even if Adriano Visconti too flew that machine ... and I appreciate even more your sustained efforts for the enrichment of your culture in the field! So the picture we see the poor Pietro Calistri ... The "mustache" deceived me and I exchanged with whisker of Visconti. If you allow me, I would take advantage of your knowledge a second time: "The propeller Piaggio". I see different Macchi Castoldi provided to this propeller. Was it a replacement or was fitted as standard? If it was fitted as standard, which used the factory and on that series of Mk 202 we find? Thanks Vespa!
4SCT_Vespa Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Hi geraki9, the propeller Piaggio P.1001 was fitted as standard on Macchi C.202. As stated into several technical documentation, starting from the early series. As you can see below, C202 Handbook and Catalog parts ( comprehensive series I-XV) show clearly Piaggio P.1001 as propeller fitted on Folgore. Weird thing..it's not uncommon to see C202 pictures with propeller marked with the wartime AerMacchi or Breda logo
geraki9 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Hi 4SCTVespa, ...so I assume that the SAI Ambrosini, even in time of war, did not change thePiaggio of the propellers, as they did in most cases Macchi and Breda. My curiosity is the fact that I find it hard to recognize 202 of the SAI and thoughtthat the Piaggio had been left alone by the SAI, and 202 with the brand propellerwere the SAI but, comparing MM, was not matching. So what makes me recognize an MC 202 SAI? Only the larger white cross? I don'tbelive it. For example this 202, in the pictures that I attach, it has extended thecross but the MM the complaint as Breda series IV.4SCTVespa, do not send me to hell ... then for at least a month (if I'll) do not Iwill ask nothing... thanks ++
150GCT_Pag Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Hi Geraki, the aircraft in the picture (on the left is a simulacre) was built by SAI Ambrosini.. in fact the extend cross is used only by SAI. Sai aircraft also had a camouflage pattern with bigger green blotches than Macchi and Breda built aircrafts. By the way, the MM 7431 is from a Serie IV, built by Ambrosini (from MM7409 to 7458) It was the first series built by SAI Ambrosini, the second was the Serie V, from MM7959 to 8008, but only 17 probably built. The Breda factory built Serie I, VI, VIII, X, XI, XII, XV and XVI
geraki9 Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Hello 150GCT_Pag, indeed one on the left looks like a big toy of Corgi Toys ...On your own post (http://www.150gct.it/static.php?file=static/Colore6.htm)I had already read about the larger spots that applied the SAI but, under? From what little I could guess, the pattern was more similar to Breda toMacchi, camouflage also over much of the fuselage lower.Even the well-known "Colori e schemi mimetici della Regia Areonautica 1935-1943" I could not find convincing the news, and annex not illustrate the lowerparts.Dark olive green spots large, regularly arranged and sparser, trademarksPiaggio on the propeller, rudder white cross extended, could be true coloring"under" specimen attached below?Really thanks for your help!
SOLIDKREATE Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 So many great skins here, thanks guys! And just wanna know, is anyone making this skin? You will have it on Tuesday 27OCT2015 (-8 GMT) 1
150GCT_Pag Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Hi Geraki Examining several C.202’s pictures, and as stated in the Massimello work (I colori del “Folgore” – The Colours of “Folgore” – Aerofan, 76, gen/mar 2001), the SAI built aircrafts should had a camouflage of dark olive green blotches over a light hazelnut base, extending on the under surfaces in a similar way that in the Macchi aircraft. The tail cross was as specified, extending until the edge of the rudder; it is interesting to know that even the C200 previously manufactured by the same company had this characteristic, namely the same tail cross, so we can assume with some confidence that this characteristic was maintained event on subsequent C.202 Speaking of the pictures, is the aircraft 396-2, named “Judy”, of 396 Sq., 154° Gruppo, based in Rodi, summer 1943. It’s a SAI Ambrosini built aircraft, with camouflage even on lower sides of fuselage, as said before; an old publication (Notiziario CMPR 84/2) say that, probably, the MM was 7437 (Serie IV). On propeller blades there was the Piaggio logo. For the C.202 in fresh factory colours, it’s a plastic simulacrum, fiberglass with metal parts, built by Celin Avio srl, di Venegono. It was used by Aeronautica Militare to show in events and airshows all around Italy, without the risk of carrying around museum’s real aircrafts, that may be damaged. Now the 365-1 is preserved in Volandia Air Museum, in Milan, along with a similar C.205. By the way, you have a pm…
SOLIDKREATE Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) I have to fix a few things. For example the insignia on the rudder is not not split properly. And the insignia's on the underwing are upside down. I also have to custom paint the mottling. Maybe some more wear and tear than I have added up to this point. soon..............and I will be adding a Croat Russian Front M.C.202 as well. Edited October 28, 2015 by 6./ZG1=SPEKTRE76 4
