TheElf Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 (edited) Not sure if this will be helpful to all the Mission Makers out there, but I for one would like to start a post here that we can all add to and make requests for Ground objects in the editor for things we are missing. This will probably only appeal to Mission Makers who are focused on historical missions, but the point is to get all the objects we'd like to see for missions. S Since BoS is a tactical FLight sim, the ground war drives the Air War. So it matters what sorts of Ground objects we have available as tools. So far my short list is thus... For both sides 1. Horse Drawn Carriages for Towed Guns 2. Trucks that can tow guns in limbered state. 3. Dug in Infantry blocks for Static defenses that are destructable 4. Camouflage "Blocks" for hiding vehicles. 5. Flags draped on vehicles. Ground forces regularly draped national Flags on the decks of Tanks and REcon Vehicles to avoid friendly fire. 6. A ground unit that represents a platoon of infantry, either in a static trench and deployed to advance. They scatter when attacked. Germany 4. Sd.Kfz 231, 222, 269, 232 (8 Rad) 5. Pz II 6. German 88 in AT configuration (limbered, and unlimbered) 7. Light Army Truck Krupp L2H143 8. SdKfz 7 8-Ton Prime Mover 9. SdKfz 251/ Ausf C Command Half Track 10. Pz IV Ausf F1 Short Barrel 11. Pz III Command TAnk (Short Barrel) 13. Kubel Wagon command car 14. Kradschutzen Motorcyle Infantry. 15. SdKfz 1 Type 170 Staff Car. 16. Marder II 17. Marder III Soviets 1. T-26 2. KV-2 3. STZ-5 Tractor 4. Zis-6 With PARM-1 B Field Workshop 5. ZiS-42M 2.5 ton Halftrack 6. Harley Davidson 42WLA Motorcylce with Sidecar 7. M3A1 Scout Car. Lend Lease. 8. BT-7A Artillery Tank SPG 9. ZiS-5V w/ 12.7mm DShk HMG 10. T-70 Rocket Tank (Katyusha) Features to add to vehicles 1. Trucks loaded with infantry that scatter when attacked 2. A destructible Static version of every vehicle. Sim Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Good list. I would just maybe add some Romanian/Italian vehicles (especially anti-aircraft artillery units). Also, for me, what is really important is to have all the static item representations of existing planes. This allows to model detailed airfields with a bunch of static planes on the ground matching units and what they flew historically. At the moment, the following static planes are missing: La-5 Fw-190 I-16 MC.202 Hoping devs did not forget to add those at some point.
caryatid23 Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 I would second Sim's statement that statics for everything ( all ground units too ) would be great. Primarily though, I would like to have buildings that units can spawn and de-spawn under invisibly to the player. Currently the only objects I've found that I can drive a vehicle into or out of are the nets and the hangers both of which are not appropriate for vehicles really.
