Tangmere Pilots

A fine group of chaps dedicated to historical aviation.

A complete privelage to be a part of it.

If you are looking for a squadron that can offer the best missions, skin builders, and all round comradeship why not give us a try.

Tigertoo is our resident 'Uncle' who will take you through OTU and then who knows you could find yourself strapped in a Hurricane or Spitfire to take on the might of the Luftwaffe during the Battle Of Britain!!

Bump for Tangmere! Many of our pilots have become early adopters of BoS. So get prepared and join us as we take the BoS journey together.

Hi chaps

I might have missed it but is there anything on your website re what your plans for BoS are (rather than your stuff in CloD), ie which side you will be flying on.

If not - can someone advise here please what your plans are as it may tempt some of us browsers who don't want to play CloD or IL1946 into making a decision and making an application.

Hi Rev,

We're currently discussing options as to what we do at the conclusion of our Clod Battle of Britain campaign. But I think it's fair to say that the favourite at the moment is a move to BoS. We have about 25 or so regular fliers & over half of us are BoS founders - so we're certainly embracing the sim.

As to which side we predominantly fly on......also up for discussion. But the way TP is structured, with our Friday co-ops & well as campaign Sundays, we'll be certain to see plenty of stick time for both the Luftwaffe & VVS.

We also have a very active interest in RoF, & have flown a number of mini campaigns devised by our RoF guru, Prangster.

We're actively recruiting, & a very welcoming bunch. Mainly UK based, but with chaps in the US & Canada, as well as Germany & the (very) odd Belgian.

thanks for that update; I'm a RoF person too, but I didn't take to CloD hence my hesitation on making an application to the TPs. Does an application hinge on playing CloD?

Rev,

At the moment, yes. We're halfway through August 1940 in our BoB campaign. Which means about 6-8 months to go in real life.

The thinking is that this time scale will synch in nicely with the release of a finished BoS. Then it'll be on with the wooly knickers & off to Stalingrad.

Just to put some flesh on the bones for you or anyone else interested:

Sundays are our campaign night - currently Battle of Britain using Clod where 20+ of us take to the skies against an AI Luftwaffe. (We have a clever chap in TP [swallow] who has come up with a way to spawn, engines off, in sections, on the runway)

Tuesdays are a dogfight followed by training in whatever type(s) we're flying on Sundays

Fridays are 'fun' night - dogfight followed by co-op style missions. The other week we had Blenheim v Blenheim madness, & this Friday we've 'Stuka golf' to look forward to.(don't ask - I don't know!) We also fly historical(ish) missions flying as Blue. As soon as mp is possible in BoS, that will be added to the menu too.

Currently we have an active RoF group (between 6 & 12 chaps) who get together on Mondays & fly historical mp co-ops crafted by our RoF guru, Prangster (Who made Flying Fury & Spider's Web single player campaigns for the community). There's a strong chance that we'll start flying RoF on Fridays as well to add variety.

We're primarily a flight sim group, but also have chaps who meet up on non TP nights to play Arma, & race using F1

Hurrah!!!

Ive made the jump and got BoS!!!

Come on Gentlemen!!

The Tangmere Pilots need pilots, not just any online pilots.............

If you are reading this, you are obviously a flt sim pilot with an interest in WWII era a/c and timeline, these are the type we are after recruiting into Tangmere Pilots.

We offer a great sense of comradeship, great missions to fly and help along the way(but please no questions like "where do babies come from").............

Really looking forward to what 2014 brings Tangmere Pilots............

Hey from across the pond!

I was just admiring your website - beautifully done BTW - and it occurred to me we might find interest in an exchange tour or two. In the real world, I had the pleasure of flying with two of your RAF chaps in two of my squadrons and lost a dear friend that was flying Jaguars out of Lossiemouth back in the 80s. I thought we might talk about flying together in BoS if the idea blows up your skirt.

Without expounding on details, just let me know if you like the idea. I haven't floated it past my own squad - =69.GIAP= - a VVS squad, but I am confident they would warm to the idea if well thought out.

Cheers, Bill "CONAN" Behymer

Bump.

We've now finished our RAF Clod campaign, & have switched sides to fly a Luftwaffe Battle of France show. For this campaign we've split into fighter & bomber wings (all flying in the same mission), so something for everyone.

All missions made bespoke by our mission building team.

We anticipate running this till Christmas or early new year, when we plan to transfer our affections more fully to BoS. Most of us are Founders, & it's already featuring in our midweek schedule.

We have around 25 active pilots, but room for plenty more.
