What are you looking forward to the most?

Personally, I'm looking forward to the career mode the most. It'll be interesting watching the Battle of Stalingrad progress from the sky. If we get infantry sometime like in IL2 1946 DBW, it'll be cool to see them moving from the sky.

I'm also looking forward to the multiplayer. I'm sure you'll all have a great time shooting down an inexperienced rookie like me

Perhaps once the multiplayer is ready, people here will solve disputes by brutally shooting each other from the sky, rather than that old-fashioned method of forgiving each other :P

I would have to say the career mode as well.

I expect this game to improve my life immeasurably and if it doesn't I'm going to whinge about it on these forums for years to come

Hmmmm....

On a general note:

  • Better graphics, effects and environment giving us more immersion
  • A well done UI accompanied with good support and new products I will gladly pay for
  • Eventually a large inventory of playable aircraft
  • The feeling I got when I played the Il-2 demo the day it came out way back when ( made me run out and build a computer from scratch that week  )

More Specifically:

  • Strafiing columns in an IL-2
  • Knocking down Heinkills with well placed cannon shots at deflection angles
  • Attacking formations of Junkers bringing supplies to the kessel
  • Hopefully dive bombing boats on the Volga in a Stuka with those evil sirens whining ( whats the word on boats anyway? )
  • Trying to knock down Sturmoviks, but seeing my rounds richochet off armor
  • Finally taking the time to learn level bombing ( pe-2 / he-111 )
  • Finally getting into the on-line community and possibly being a valuble member of a squadron

And Hopefully, down the road, and in this very specific order:

  • Pacific carrier war expansion ( Oh Corsair.  Sweet Sweet Corsair :pilot:  )
  • Med / North Africa expansion
  • Western Europe expansion
  • Heavy Bomber focussed expansion
  • Solomon Islands expansion

Thats all

So far (at present) NO Ju-52 and the current word is NO boats.

However I am looking forward to an improved crashing experience :)

Bummed out about both.  Being positive I think it all hinges on the marketplace.   ROF did so well that 3 years later they are selling scarfs and sidearms and have created almost every aircraft from WW1.  As long as BOS is well done,  All these good things will come.

I'm looking forward to taking off from unimproved airfields in the cold, blustery pre-dawn darkness to go find a lager of German tanks, bomb them as the crews are starting their morning maintenance while flak and anti air is going up around me and an escape at low level hoping that the German pilots are still enjoying sausages and eggs in their messes, then a hair-raising landing on a too-short icy strip before turning the plane over to the ground crew to have the bullet holes patched, refueled and rearmed while I head off to be debriefed and rebriefed on a railway station that needs bombing before lunchtime.

Looking forward to Move Some Mud!!!

I am a bit more of a ground pounder, so seeing today the video of the IL-2 fireing rockets in the evening dusk...whoa!

Definately will do some air to air as well, but as I have been, and still am more of a offliner, as the AI has been so crap in the old games.

You know, retarded sniper tail gunners, AI´s retarded flight X-wing type of flight modelling etc...

Have played now RoF for couple of days, and had very high hopes that the AI would have gotten better in the last few years,

but sad to say I was sorely dissapointed... Still the same retardness.

Own planes landing on top of you, AI having about 1/2 of your turning circle, flying below stall speeds etc..

Having a slight hope for the BoS as the AI should be leaps and bounds better, with the same flight modeling as humans etc...

Crossing fingers!

Career. Especially if it'd be an interesting one.

Also looking forward to see some good online servers (?) which will have their games sorted up as they should be. Or the next close thing.

So I could actually fly a Shturmo or Ju-87 and make some difference on mission outcome (except for dying and making relatively small crater as on most servers).

Looking forward to regular game updates too.

With a game such as this I think that is vital.

I would say a very accurate WW2 simulation in all its aspects (flight model, damage model, weaponery etc) but also plenty eye candy  :P

Not funny but still made me laugh

What I am looking forward to the most is to fly the IL2 and rocket attack a column of vehicles at low level, then flying a few meters over the column to see the destruction I caused

Stop trying to get a bite or I'll ban people.

I'm not thrilled about some of the latest news either, but irritating other people here will not help anything.

That's a general warning for all members to avoid baiting other members. Some of the comments here are kind of jokes but are definitely a bit pointed.

If it gets too bad I'm fine with you locking/deleting the thread.

I played a bit in that in 1946 recently. It's pretty underarmed and vulnerable, but I still like it.

Looking forward most to flying the Sturmovik with the rear gunner mod. Stout lad, that ground crewman. Stayed up the whole night helping make the aircraft ready. Pitched in with the arming of the unit's remaining aircraft this morning, and now he's volunteered to fly as gunner on the first mission of the day....

I hope that he doesnt squeal like his counterpart in 1946 when he gets a bit of negative G :)

S!

To set up the sim and then going thru various options and see what is implemented. Trying out all planes available of course. Enjoying the newly sparked interest in flying after so many years away from the scene.

Probably with a liberal application of vodka on both accounts...

What I am looking forward to NOT having is the flight leader sniveling about "stay in formation" or "I can barely see you" and then ramming you or repetative and incorrect instructions about headings and altitudes.

I'm looking forward to BoS surprising me in positive way. Won't be to picky as long as it'll be better than I expected. Optimist, I know.

The more I've thought about it lately, I want to see if I can fly low enough for the prop to bite into some of the snow drifts we've seen. I'd like to see if it affects the prop, the snow or both.

You will not be popular with your squadron maintenance officer.

Looking forward to seeing the completed damage modelling, especially when you nurse your beaten plane back and spend an hour just looking at the damage wondering how on Earth you managed to keep it flying, let alone landing it.

1 Get on the best online Dogfight server

2 Get in an F-4

3 Find HeavyCavalrySrg and shoot him down if possible

Don't worry Richie.....HeavyCavalrySgt is going to spend awhile looking around for a gunsite because he doesn't have one in his fighter.....and if he's lucky, he will get his radio to work as well.

Originally I was looking forwards to flying the 109F4 most (probably in career mode if it exists, or MP if it doesn't). However I have since changed my mind. What I most want to do is to shoot down a human Bf-109 using rockets on a LaGG-3. Why? Because too many people here are far too serious and we need something silly to lighten the mood a bit.
