Sokol1 Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 You get better support for this il-2 serie there: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/forumdisplay.php?f=98 Or, buy the last version of this serie there (10$) - this Ultimate is too old: http://www.gog.com/game/il_2_sturmovik_1946
desant37 Posted August 11, 2015 Author Posted August 11, 2015 What u mean ultimate is too old? Its 2013!! While 1946 is 2009!!
Bearcat Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 What u mean ultimate is too old? Its 2013!! While 1946 is 2009!! IL2 1946 is the latest incarnation of the original IL2 series. Get IL2 46. Ultimate was released around 2007.
desant37 Posted August 11, 2015 Author Posted August 11, 2015 I just wasted 15 quid for ultimate edition who is to say 1946 wont **** up like the other one?
Dakpilot Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Would recommend asking here http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Home-Community sounds like a resolution problem which I have a vague memory of Cheers Dakpilot
Bearcat Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Did you install it in the programs folder? If so create a folder on your C drive and name it games .. then install it to that folder. Then try it again.. Thee is no reason why it doesn't work unless the disk is corrupted .. I have multiple IL2 1946 installs on my W7 machine.. and they all work flawlessly.
Feathered_IV Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 If it's a resolution problem the fix is to locate the Conf.ini and open with notepad. Type your resolution in manually. I'm away from my pc at the moment, but let us know if you are still having trouble or get it fixed.
desant37 Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 Its not just a resolution problem. I see just 1 corner of the screen but even mouse or keyboard doesnt work
Dakpilot Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Seriously go here and read through some of the installation guides in the knowledge base, it is 99% a conf.ini file wrong value, due to ultimate edition being at patch 4.11, widescreen was added in patch 4.12 http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Knowledge_Base All the info you need is there 1) Open the folder where IL2 46 is installed, its usually 'c:\program files\ubisoft\IL2 Sturmovik 1946' if you used the default install option.Another way of finding this is to right click in the IL2 46 desktop icon to bring up a drop down menu, click on 'Properties' to open up the shortcuts properties menu, go to the 'Shortcut' tab and click on 'Find Target'.2) Look for a file called 'Conf.ini', open it up in Notepad or a text editor.3) Look for the following lines of text, they should be near the top:[window]width=1920height=1200ColourBits=32DepthBits=24StencilBits=8ChangeScreenRes=1FullScreen=1DrawIfNotFocused=0EnableResize=0EnableClose=1SaveAspect=0Use3Renders=04) Edit the lines 'Width' and 'Height'. These lines correspond to the resolution IL2 will display in. Enter in your screens native resolution or the resolution you want to play IL2 in.The example above is for a 24" 16:10 screen. A 19" 5:4 screen is 1280x1024 which is standard resolution for that sort of size TFT/LCD. A 16:10 19" widescreen is 1280x800 etc. More info on screen sizes can be found here.5) Look for 'EnableResize=' and set it to 0.6) Look for 'SaveAspect=' and set it to 0.7)Save the file, close it and run IL2. That may help but you need to check what your system needs, or go to M4T and download the new patches to make the game current Cheers Dakpilot
