Combat Air Patrol 2 - Battle of Hormuz

I hope that I am not breaking any rules by bringing the above title to your attention, I also hope it's the correct forum, if not Moderators please remove.

I have just this morning become aware of a new 'Kickstarter' project (Flight Sim) entitled "Combat Air Patrol 2 - Battle of Hormuz" . As a keen flight simmer and supporter of new projects I thought I would bring it to your attention as you may also be interested. I have below copied some of the description from the site to give you an idea what the game proposes to achieve.

Please note that I have absolutely no association (other than pledging my support) with this Developer or software and have nothing to gain in any way shape or form.

"The Sim is Brought to you by Sim155 Ltd, Combat Air Patrol 2 (CAP2) is a flight and naval combat simulator game for PC (Steam/Windows) where you pilot the AV-8B Harrier II.

"The AV-8B Harrier II is a battle proven powerhouse of the US Marine Corps. With its history, iconic look and it’s ability to hover and land vertically it requires no explanation as to why it has become a widely used military aircraft and trusted by scores of highly trained pilots. Here is your chance to become one of those pilots!"

"After initial flight and tactical training you will be pitched into an immersive scenario against aggressive ground, sea and air based enemies. Use your skill as a pilot and your tactical awareness to engage in dogfights, carry out ground attacks and command your fleet to ultimately ensure the safety of your comrades and the final capitulation of the enemy. Strategic decisions such as commanding your fleet on the tactical map and your performance in the air will affect the final outcome: Go 'gung ho' with a full out assault and the outcome will be in the balance or plan ahead and the end result will be your ultimate victory."

"CAP2 is set in a hypothetical scenario in the Strait of Hormuz, Persian Gulf. It has a beautifully rendered, geographically accurate environment with fully dynamic atmospheric lighting that allows daytime and night time missions that are both engaging and immersive. "

I hope it's of interest!

DCS should be getting a Strait of Hormuz map soon, but no signs of a Harrier, so I'll certainly keep my eyes on this one.

VEAO are planning to do an early model Sea Harrier at some point while RAZBAM have stated the AV-8B is on their list along with the A-7E once the Mirage 2000C is out (still expected this year). But I don't have a huge amount of confidence in either yet, lots of 3rd parties come and go without ever releasing a finished module and neither of them have broken that barrier yet. Regardless, CAP2 doesn't look like a sim to me. I couldn't find any mention of flight modeling on the kickstarter page, that typically means it's going to be an arcade shooter.

On the Steam forums, they stated that they are aiming for IL-2 level of realism, not sure if they meant 1946 or BOS, but, even if it's a 'light sim', it's a great addition to the whole genre. We don't get too many new titles here.

I find DCS a bit irritating, as it's all process and no purpose. An Il-2 level of mechanical realism would be perfectly acceptable for me if it came with a convincing sp experience.
