Grifter Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 I am running a Win7-64, AMD Phenom II 975 Quad Core at 3.6GHz w/ 8GB RAM and a single GTX 680 2MB Signature GPU in my current rig. Wondering just how much Rise of Flight (and IL-2 BOS likely) tend to be CPU-limited in people's experience. Thanks!
FuriousMeow Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Give Rise of Flight a shot, it's free. I don't go above 40% core in fully loaded QMB with 15 planes on each side and all ground objects. i7 4770k@4.5GHz. But just giving Rise of Flight a try will tell you if your CPU (it should have no problem) is up to it.
Matt Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 It's definately more CPU limited than GPU limited. Atleast if you have many AI planes around, which have the biggest impact on performance, especially multi-seaters. I would recommend to try RoF or wait a few weeks and test BoS.
Grifter Posted October 24, 2013 Author Posted October 24, 2013 Thanks for the input guys. It's been a pretty long time since I have gotten serious about a flight sim, but my out-of-control interest in WW2 and air combat wouldn't let me leave the opportunity aside.
TP_Merlin Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 I use to run a Win7-64, AMD Phenom II 970 @ 4.0ghz / 8gb ram / GTX570 @ 800mhz 1.3gb VRAM and got these figures on a 1920x1200 monitor: Avg: 37.389 - Min: 20 - Max: 55 1
