davido53 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 in the old IL-2 this was the joystick hat forward position why couldn't they just do it the same way? again, unnecessarily obtuse
Y-29.Silky Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 (edited) Unnecessarily irrelevant rant. I don't know about you but looking up was set as hat forward for me in this game. Which was really annoying if you have Track IR because I had to delete all the hat view positions. Edited July 23, 2015 by Y-29.Silky 1
davido53 Posted July 23, 2015 Author Posted July 23, 2015 I suppose I'm having buyer's regret. IL-2 was so good, and this is not an improvement as far as I'm concerned.

But the cool thing is once you do that you have the entire numpad for reassignment Also is no one going to do a 'dogs can't look up' meme? 1
SharpeXB Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 (edited) The first WWII flight sim that's gets successfully released in 9 years and you're complaining about a different key mapping? Besides, If you've been playing flight sims for this long you shouldn't be using the hat switch anymore. Get a TrackIR already! ;-P Edited July 24, 2015 by SharpeXB 1
SteelValkyrie Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 I tried track Ir, didn't like it. I'm sorry but I'm going to have to ask how you don't like having the freedom to look around without using buttons? If anything it adds to the immersion and leaves your thumb free to operate the plane, kind of a win-win really, though some people have said it's a little strange at first and takes a while to get used to. If you dislike the game that much you can get a refund if you bought it on Steam. 1

[CPT]milopugdog Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 I don't quite understand what you're talking about... Are you complaining about not having snap view? Try pressing F9 to change the camera mode, it'll probably have something like what you're looking for.
Sokol1 Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Davido52, Look 45 degrees up is a snap-view, for default the game use the pan view, is need change the mode with (I think) F-9. The name of the function in controls, section Pilot Head Control , is: "Pilot head snap position: forward" default key KP8 and HAT Up (0º).
