=BLW=Pablo Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 (edited) Firstly hello everyone, today we celebrate here in Brazil the day Aviator. And to celebrate the occasion, nothing better than a good video acrobatics.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qahuxB3xeAAircraft Globe GC-1B Swift 1946 145hp~S~ Edited October 23, 2013 by PabloSniper 1
HeavyCavalrySgt Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Nice precision. It is interesting how many Swifts are still around. In the US, they seem to have been frequently modified into flat panel aircraft chock full of electronics that Pop Johnson could never have dreamed of and control sticks rather than yokes. I have seen some with 200+ HP and the aircraft seem to command a surprisingly high price if you compare them to something like a Stinson Voyager of the same vintage.
=BLW=Pablo Posted October 23, 2013 Author Posted October 23, 2013 (edited) Hello , I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and I agree that Americans have made many changes in this plane, included some modifications unnecessary. As for comparing the Globe, with the Stinson Voyager, I think an unfair comparison. The Stinson is a classic ride, and only that. The Globe is a small fighter in order to have wings, elevators and stabilizers for P-40 appropriately reduced scale. forgive me for spelling errors, I'm brazilian and my english is weak. more one video, but now onboard http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2dN9pDG7YA ~S~ Edited October 23, 2013 by PabloSniper
HeavyCavalrySgt Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Your English is excellent - far better than my Portuguese ! I didn't mean to imply the Stinson was in the same performance category as the Swift - it certainly isn't. just aircraft of comparable vintage that have survived the test of time and are still out there flying, pleasing owners and passengers and doing what they were designed to as lesser aircraft have come and gone. 1
Feathered_IV Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 You have an aviator's day? That is brilliant. 1
