150GCT_Pag Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 This cockpit is amazing, really cool, and it looks much better than the standard BoS cockpit! There are still some things to fix, as already pointed out to developers, like the inner color of the cockpit frames, that were all flat black, but is really a very good job! Thanks, I can't wait to fly the Folgore!

fergal69 Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Amazing work guys. It keeps getting better with age.
elephant Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 (edited) The cockpit looks fantastic! I'm not so enthousiastic on the pilot though... The choice of the headgear is off in my opinion, even the leather (bikers) jacket is not that suitable for a generic pilot, because they were not officially issued but privetly purchased. My choice of headgear should have been: Or with this type of mask from 1942 and on: Edited July 19, 2015 by elephant 7
csThor Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Elephant is right. I've read that the leather-type hood was quickly replaced by the Netzkopfhaube as the latter was a lot more comfortable (especially in hot weather). Leather caps were usually padded with fur and used in cold weather or for very high altitude ops (like strategic or weather recon). 2
sport02 Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 another great pit , italian-style , also appearance of the dashboard is similar as the il-16 one !!

Livai Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 +1000. Put masks on these guys! Please +1 1. Put masks on these guys! -----> Over 3000m 2. Put masks off these guys! -----> Below 3000m BTW where are the legs, hands and feets from my pilot. The cockpit feels a little bit empty from inside. Not sure how much weight my pilot has? I hope he is not too heavy? That could be fun. Pretty sure that this is too much from everything. What you say? 1

The visibility of a pilot body inside the cockpit has been discussed a couple of times already. http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/5805-has-anyone-done-pilot-body-poll/ http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/4991-oculus-rift-pilot-body/ And according the Dev team it ain't gonna happen.
CF-105 Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 I agree with SuperGhostBoy's mask on/off idea. Sure, it would need a bit more animation, and it isn't important at the moment, but it would certainly be yet another feature for a nice overall sim 'polish'.
Blooddawn1942 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I love the leatherjacket. Even if this was not standard gear it looks so damn cool. I would have got one for myself back then... The cockpit looks very convincing too. Although I have a hell of fun with the Rata right now, I am curious when we will get the 202. Mid of August maybe?

Cockpit looked pretty much ready, and the MC.202 was the very first BoM plane we saw screenshots of flying in-game. My money's on first week of August

Original_Uwe Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 I still have your pilot skins from IL2.. RoF too right?

Chuck_Owl Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 The italian cockpits always had a particular look and feel... and these screenies do capture it quite well.
79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I still have your pilot skins from IL2.. So do I.
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 I remember in IL-2 1946, one could place their actual picture of their face on the pilot in game.
Bearcat Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Yeah... I have been asking about that for a while now.....Maybe one day. RoF too right? I meant 46.. I didn't know you could do pilot skins on RoF.
Feathered_IV Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 You could technically change the pilot face in RoF via Mods-on mode. The geometry of the faces are more complex than the old Il-2 though, so it might look a bit funny. I did do a Lanoe Hawker style moustache on the DH-2 pilot once, and that seemed to work okay though.
Picchio Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I'm curious how the front dash seems to be textured like the I-16's. I couldn't find good reference photos, was it the same material or are we looking at some sort of "test" on general cockpits texturing?

You can do that in DCS as well but it takes more work to get your own face in since you have to make it line up with the pilot model but it is doable.
1CGS LukeFF Posted August 1, 2015 1CGS Posted August 1, 2015 (edited) Question for you guys: how was the trigger set up on the 202's flight stick when it carried both 12.7 mm machine guns and 7.7 mm machine guns? It looks to me like there is no way to fire the two sets of guns separately. Edited August 1, 2015 by LukeFF

150GCT_Pag Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 (edited) In the aircraft with only the two 12,7mm nose mg's, the pilot can select to fire the single left mg, or the right one, or both. In the aircraft equipped with the two 7,7mm mg on wings, the pilot can select the nose mg's (both, arrow in position "C" - centrali), or the wings mg's (both, arrow in position "A" - alari) or all the four weapons togheter (arrow in position "TUTTE" - all). whatyoulikjerseyheys Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 It looks like lots of new and interesting things developing but maybe it is just me, I do not like having purchased a game to have to pay for advancements or Aircraft individually. Perhaps as a complete update would be more palatable.
BeastyBaiter Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 That isn't even offered as an option. The aircraft are sold in packs. BoS is one aircraft pack, BoM is another (currently in development obviously), All players have all aircraft packs in their game, buying them simply allows you to fly them. So if you only buy BoS, the BoM planes will still be available in missions you fly in both single player and multiplayer, but you will not be able to fly them yourself. They will be piloted by AI and other players while you are restricted to the planes you purchased. All core updates such as new AI units, features and bug fixes are given to everyone for free. There is only one game here and a single active version of it. It's a very sensible setup. If you're asking about a colletor's pack, I hope we aren't offered any such thing anytime in the near future. Those versions are made when a game is considered "complete" and thus no longer being developed. It will happen of course, but my hope is it will be at least 4-5 years from now after we have a good variety of aircraft and maps.
