[CPT]milopugdog Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 On the Ju-87, there is a window that can be used to see targets underneath the plane. You might have noticed it, here's a picture of where it is. When you press the N key (or your bomb bay door key) it will open to look like this I hope this short thread will help fellow Ju-87 pilots with all of their dive bombing needs. See you in the skies, Milo 3
Cybermat47 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 It took me ages to figure this out; I'm sure it will come in handy for others
Finkeren Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 For old players of IL2, it's propably one of the first things you look for in the Stuka cockpit But new players will no doubt find this helpful. 1

BlitzPig_EL Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Yep, it was open all the time, and I believe it's real purpose was to check the centerline mounted ordnance, to see if the bomb trapeze was lowering properly. 1
wtornado Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 The door opens and you click ''open hatch'' again and the window slides to the back fully open and.your pilot swivels around to face the back and seat hatch opens automatically when the second stage compressor. Toilet paper roll is usually hanging on the right hand side in the cockpit. Stuka flights were long.
Potenz Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 the purpose of that little window was for the pilot to do the final adjustments before start a vertical dive to the target. and yes for old 1946 players is a well known issue it's also in CloD.
wtornado Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I wish Veteran66 would make a few offline Stuka missions based on StG 1 ,StG 2 and StG77 over Stalingrad.
StG77_Kondor Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Agreed. I've tried my hand at the editor a few times and I'm slowly getting around it. Ideally I'd love to make some Stuka CAS missions on the Barrikady Gun Factory in support of the 305 Infanterie-Division. Highly recommend this book - and the others by the same author. Without a doubt, the authority on Stalingrad. Most of the pictures are from private collections, never published. Including a series taken from the ground during a Stuka attack on the city. Absolutely amazing. I'll see if I can get a proper scan of them when I get home. http://www.amazon.com/Into-Oblivion-Kharkov-Stalingrad-Pionier-Bataillon/dp/0992274907
Asgar Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 When I started playing BoS i was looking all over the control option for something like "bombing window Ju 87" or something similar and couldn't find it. I have some broad knowledge about planes and know that the window is there, but i couldn't find the control for it until some day i accidentally opened it :D
