How do you know if Beacons for RPK10 and or AFN2 are placed on the mission map ?

Secondly how do you tune to a specific beacon?

You can't.

The RPK10, at any rate, seems to tune automatically to the closest beacon (which, presumably) has the strongest signal. I've no idea if this is how they operated in real life. Haven't played with the AFN2 enough to know, but I'd guess it's the same.

I thought it auto tunes to your home airfield, but those details have to be set up in the editor.  If they are not set in the editor, they won't work.

I was really wondering this? It has to be tuneable or go for the strongest signal irl. The later is suseptable to a higher level of complexity and or inaccuracy. IMO it would have to be tuneable but may be completly wrong

I fiddle with this in CLoD, for the Luftwaffe planes the beacon:

Antenna frequency selectable from 200 to 600 MHZ - set in ME.

Outer and Inner marker in 380 MHZ.

But is bugged like the rest, lack the beacon station Morse Code, and the tuning range is too narrow.

Is detailed in DCS World.

But these details don't fit in the scope "casual gamer", so just follow the needle.  :P

~S~ Everyone,

I sorted out the basic Beacon use awhile back, and haven't gone farther into it since. Though it does need further explanation.

Abortedman has said that he uses multiple NDB locations, on the Wet Bandits server, so he would know more.

Basically you put a NDB down at an airfield and make it Channel =1, and set it's appropriate Coalition.

That said, it always points to home to an airplane equipped with a Rpk10 or the German eqv., in the case of a single airfield using one NDB.

Note, when I've used an NDB for two different airfields, each one Axis and Allies, I've set their both of their corresponding Channels to =1 with no conflicts.

Now then, IF using more NDB's, weather or not using Channel =2, or =3, or =4, is actually a thing, I don't know, as I haven't tried it yet.

I just told Abortedman that using Channel =1 was analogous to the On switch of computing, like when you do something in the .cfg file for instance.

He said, "great Jupiter you are definitely a wizard of the internets, and I shall name my next born after you. I got them all working now! K thnx bye"!, or something like that.

Anyway, hope Abortman comes by with an answer of how he actually does make use of multiple NDB's as I'm already backlogged with other issues, and, because he's already done so.

Long story short, if I remember, which I don't, I think it is all by proximity, meaning using Channel =1 is ok to use for all NDB's, and the planes auto tune to the closest friendly one. Peace.

Keep 'em Flying,
