TP_Jacko Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Nice, Tangmere Pilots go every year as a team meetup. Although I missed it this year
Heliopause Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Great shots from a great show! Puma: any specific lenses that you use?
Mysticpuma Posted July 31, 2015 Author Posted July 31, 2015 The shots were made on two lenses. Most aerial shots were on a Canon 300mm F.4 (great lens, nice and light to carry around) and the other a Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS USM II all shot on a Canon 7D MKII. To give an example the P-38 pilot in the flyby cockpit is on the 300mm cropped from the wider shot. It's just a great lens and much easier to carry around than the f2.8 'lump'. A lot of times people carry around their 'big glass' basically to say 'look at me and what I can afford' (unless you are commissioned to shoot the show). I went passed that stage a few years back, preferring now to carry light 'good' kit rather than heavy 'withering' kit when carrying it or wheeling it around all day. Hope that helps? Cheers, MP
Heliopause Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Puma I also have Canon. The short lens 18-55mm and a 75-300mm (F4?). Works in a lot of cases.
kestrel79 Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Nice pics! This airshow is on my bucket list. If I ever travel to Europe I will have this date in mind.
