How to convert a quick mission to a single player mission

I tried to load a quick mission into the editor and then save it with a unique name to the mission folder, ....but I could not get it to show up for selection.

What is the correct technique to enable a quick mission to become a usable single player mission?

To convert a quick mission to a single-player mission:

1. In BoS, build the quick mission that you want to convert.

2. Copy file _gen.mission and rename the copy to newname.mission, where newname is whatever you want to call the new mission.
Note: _gen.mission is the latest mission that you played.

3. Open the renamed mission in the editor.

4. In Mission Properties, specify the new name in the Name field and change the Mission Type to "single" (single-player).

I found that the Player plane was slightly underground so I needed to select it and click the "Set to Ground" button (green arrow pointing down).

There may be some steps that I missed, but when I tried the steps above and did a quick flight, the mission seemed to work fine.

Cheers!

FYI, sometimes the mission name displayed under Missions in BoS does not match the name that you assigned it in the Mission Properties Dialog. The name may be an older mission name. If you run into this problem, do the following:

1. Close BoS and the Mission Editor.

2. In your games folder under the data subfolder, delete the file mtreecache.eng.

The file is rebuilt when you start BoS.
