1./ZG1_ElHadji Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) I have decided to give IL-2 BoS a go on a private server. But no matter what I do I can't get it to work. What I have done so far is: 1. Obtained a second account and launched IL-2 BoS once from this account. 2. Dowloaded a mission from the missions section of this forum (Hosts in the Snow) and placed the files in the \Multiplayer\Dogfight folder. 3. I run Dserver logging in with the 2nd account I got from Customer Support and chose the mission mentioned above 4. I launch IL-2 BoS and login with my primary account. I can see my server in the list. 5a. I try to connect - "Cannot establish connection" 5b. I try again a few times and everything seems to work fine. 5c. Mission ends in a stalemate before I even have time to pick a plane (auto balancing off, time unlimited according to the .sds) 5d. Load screen and I'm back in the server selection menu in IL-2 BoS. 5e. See 5a. When I look at the Dserver window on my second monitor I notice that the text "Rotation in progress" shows every 10-15 seconds (Rotation off in the .sds). Do I have to use a second machine? Should multiplayer functionality really be this bad in 2015? Firewall is off and I don't use a router so port forwarding isn't the issue here. This is the sds I use: // Generated by dserver // credentials login = "REMOVED" password = "REMOVED" // server info ranked = 0 allowMouseJoy = 0 ServerName = "XboyzSE Air Ops" // connection settings protection = "REMOVED" maxClients = 33 maxClientPing = -1 ExternalIP = 1 ServerIP = "" DownloadLimit = 10240 UploadLimit = 10240 DownloaderPort = 28100 TCPPort = 28000 UDPPort = 28000 // remote console settings RconStart = 0 RconIP = "" RconPort = 8991 RconLogin = "" RconPassword = "" // mission rotation data ShutdownLoads = -1 [rotation] random = false file = "Dogfight\Hosts in the Snow" [end] // preset and advanced settings preset = 0 // preset: server related killNotification = 0 friendlyFireReturn = 0 finishMissionIfLanded = 0 lockPayloads = 0 lockSkins = 0 lockFuelLoads = 0 lockWeaponModes = 0 penaltyTimeout = 0 respawnTimeout = 0 coalitionChangeTimeout = 0 finishMissionTimeout = 0 missionEndTimeout = 0 idleKickTimeout = 0 tdmPointsPerRound = 0 tdmRoundTime = -1 coalitionsBalancer = false // preset: mission related objectIcons = false navigationIcons = false aimingHelp = false courseWeaponsAimingHelp = false padlock = false simpleDevices = false allowSpectator = false easyFlight = false autoCoordination = false autoThrottle = false autoPilot = false autoThrottleLimit = true autoMix = true autoRadiator = true noMoment = false noWind = false noMisfire = false noBreak = false invulnerability = false unlimitFuel = false unlimitAmmo = false engineNoStop = false hotEngine = true Edited July 9, 2015 by -=XBOYZ=-ElHadji
coconut Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I suggest you try with the stock missions first, that way you'll avoid mission-related bugs. tdmPointsPerRound = 0 That could be your problem. The idle kick timeout also looks scary at 0. I see these are the new defaults in DServer.exe, maybe that was a miss by the devs. It used to be 500 (tdmPointsPerRound). Set the idle kick timeout to e.g. 900 (15min). 1
1./ZG1_ElHadji Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) Thanx! I will try to change those values and see what happens. EDIT: Changed the values and now it works! Thanks a million! Edited July 10, 2015 by -=XBOYZ=-ElHadji
