CF-105 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Hi Pilots, did anyone mentioned the BF109F4 losing their wings easier since the new Patch? In my example. I press my stick forward and as i reached above 500 KM/H und pull the stick to the maximum my wings ripped off. Haven´t recognized it before this patch. Never lose my Wings below 660 KM/H Wow, I've never ripped my wings off in any of the game's fighters, didn't know it was possible.

The difference is subtle, but it gives slightly improved overall impression. Please give us back our terrain.ini... 4

I wouldn't deny it is possible in a perspective. As you can see the team keeps working on game's improvements. The ability to turn off the SSAO was a major step in that direction.

But taking away the terrain.ini tweak, and therefore introducing this "improvement" is a punch in the face.. Don't understand how you(Devs) can create even a new problem, where there was none before. As if there aren't enough other problems already. Terrain.ini was completely okay, everybody who wanted could tweak it to a stage, that it looks pretty good...now..ugly as hell...definitely not gonna fly this right now, it's a flight sim, and not a submarine sim after all...really disappointed. Belief is fading..money stays in pocket. Sadly. 1

Love the I-16 and glad for new graphics options, gives people choise they need. Terrain Texture Draw distance may need more work as stated here before. Overall this update feels big step forward. There's less or none of that visible LOD transition where one block of terrain loads into finer detail. Definitely an improvement for someone who hasn't messed with the .ini file. Regards Albino

Now with x4 Terrain Texture Draw distance I getting the "bubble of blur" effect and landscape pop-ups. Hard to believe that a simple config file worked much better than the Game UI Version. A config file to edit cost no men power but to made a integrated Game UI Version yes. Now is the Question if that was our money worth to take away a simple config file that worked much better to made the Game UI Version. I think thats a valid Question because tweaking the terrain.ini doesn't create this "bubble of blur" effect and landscape pop-ups. Zak, 2. HDR can be turned off; (A part of Custom Graphic Settings) 3. SSAO can be turned off; (A part of Custom Graphic Settings) 4. Terrain Texture Draw distance can now be increased with a dedicated setting option; ("\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\graphics\terrain.ini") it's not a Game improvement it's a long awaiting step into the right direction Let's hope that this bug that the integrated Game UI Version create get fixed to get the same perfect results that I had with the terrain.ini config file editing and to see more steps into the right direction! 1

Or, he's updated the game but is trying to log in offline - it'll give you that error message. Always log in online after an update Con.

The loss isn't the biggest deal to me - it's the fact that the improvements that could be made manually tweaking the file didn't translate over. Zak did reply earlier and alluded to the fact that it could be possible to push the distance slider even further in the future. 8192, 8 4092, 8 4092, 8 4092, 8 4092, 8 actually looked freakin' phenomenal. Weegie Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I was a bit negative but I'm warming to it The downsides in this are The loss of recorded tracks, although with a bit of perseverance and a video editor you could still salvage that once in a lifetime flight and transfer to video, so that's not too bad The blue snow in missions and tracks but their is an easy fix for this The only one thing I think is a step backward is the loss of terrain.ini or equivalent, and I hope that will get fixed in future version (you cannot get everything this complex right first time, there are bound to be some teething issues) The upsides F11 & AltF2 views are awesome The Rata is great fun I'm pretty neutral about SSO and HDR as I just don't see that much impact but that's maybe my rig or my eyes. I'm running reduced Gamma, 0.6 or 0.7 and SweetFX 2.0 with Reshader using @StabJG26_5tuka's modified settings, the graphics really are pretty dammed awesome. If you reckon they are too strong on color you can fall back on his original settings or PA_Sniv's both have reduced color, all available for free right here on the Forum Overall now I've collected my Dummy and its back in the pram, I am very pleased. Z-fighting describes a complex problem which affects many games regardless of what GPU you use. In game it shows as fast flickering texture. This is because the texture itself consists of different layers. The viewing distance has taken a massive step backwards with it's removal and I am now seeing very blurry textures and "pop up" This of course could be my PC but I have never had these kind of issues prior to the latest update.

I got 3 He-111 in a single pass. The cannons are OMG! I moved on to Bf-109. Mind you, I am a BoS newbie and I still have problems in the 190 vs the Lagg!!! So I fight the 109s 2 vs me. Kill one then chase the next down like a dog. He can run, but he cant get away from.... I-16? LoL It will be fun but it is sooo OP. The only possible server settings for this plane is I-16 vs I-16 1

The only possible server settings for this plane is I-16 vs I-16 Let me guess: You were playing against AI. The AI is far too eager to turn fight and don't care too much about keeping air speed up. Against human opponents in Bf 109s online, it's gonna be a different story: You'll be able to frustrate them with you maneuverability, but you won't be able to catch them at all. About downing 3 He 111s in one pass: Keep in mind that your speed advantage over the Heinkel is so small that your firing time in one pass is propably equal to 3 or 4 passes in a Yak or LaGG and you carry twice the number of guns (with half the ammo). The I-16 was an awesome little machine for its time. Fast (even though it doesn't look like it, the plane was originally designed for speed) and very maneuverable, especially in the rolling plane at a time when most fighters were rather slow-rolling biplanes. By the start of WW2 however, the I-16 was just far too slow to compete as a fighter, which you'll propably realize once you venture online in it. I've not yet had the time to fly the I-16 myself, but from what I've read here on the forum, it seems like the devs have gotten it about right, even if it does sound like the Rata is easier to fly than I would've expected. yeah I cant even find the link to update the game.... so I cant even play the game...
