Is there going to be an MP server up? I-16's vs I-16's would be epic to say the least.

I like it's original name.. Jackass (Donkey), but Jackass is more suitable for English speakers in more ways than one.

Luke, since we're getting it tomorrow, can you disclose some details? How does the gravity-fed carbuerator work? Does the engine cut out under neg-G? How about the manual gear? Is it a 'press X number of times to operate like in the original IL-2 or a 'press and hold' system like some of the flaps in BoS?

It will cut out under negative-G, yes. The landing gear works like it does now on all other planes - it just takes a lot longer in the I-16.

BTW, I have a cockpit guide ready to go once the plane is released that will help players get used to some of the more unique features of this plane.

carburetor sputters when performing - dives, manual gear is one press of the key, but is simulated for manual raise and lower ( it takes its time). flap is same it's flap or one piece if you will.

Pretty excited to see the I-16! Should be fun!

Does anyone know if we'll see the 20mm ShVAK cannon mod with the I-16?

Thanks.

Tbh I would've prefered a press-and-hold system to better simulate the pilot needing to use one hand to turn the crank for an extended period of time and to force the player to make sure the gear retracted properly.

Oh well, it's gonna be fun anyway :)

Will today's update, besides the wonderful, most awaited by me, I-16, also bring a Summer map ?

From memory, the Dev Diaries stated we can expect the maps in 'Fall'.  So, only a bit longer to wait on them.

From Dev diary 102:

As you know, we'll be releasing a major addon to Battle of Stalingrad this fall. It will feature new summer and autumn seasonal maps and a new single player campaign that will tell the history of military operations and battles from late August till mid November, 1942

Its a small target so probably difficult to hit with gunpods but I'm confident my 20mm nose cannon will do quick work toring those Ishaks apart.

.......ok, I might take my Stuka instead for an even fight :P
