Leaf Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Hi all, I was doing some testing with skins and purely by accident stumbled on the complete set of damage textures for the G2. The different colours presumably represent different gradations of damage; with red being small arms fire, green representing moderate damage (cannons etc.) and blue showing major [structural] damage. Thought it'd be cool to share, I'll see if I can do the same for other aircraft. Regards, Leaf 3
Voidhunger Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 good find. the visual representation of damage is one of the weakest things in bos for me. I dont think that it will change in the future, but maybe im wrong 3
Rjel Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Well at the very least, it doesn't have the big scooped out spot on the rear fuselage we hated in the original. I wouldn't be surprised to see the damage model getting tweaked and improved over time.
Finkeren Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Not sure we'll see damage visuals become more detailed or complex, but it would be nice to at least have the damage textures in higher resolution to match the high-res skins.

This. It was the first thing I noticed after I bought the game. Hope they would fix this because it looks so IL2 46shh :-) Edited July 3, 2015 by blackram_ 1
=LD=Penshoon Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Agreed that this could use some serious improvement. The pixelated bullet holes looks aweful when viewed up close from the cockpit.
Y-29.Silky Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 (edited) That is hilarious! It'd be cool to see the rest. Possibly that new I-16 as well! Edited July 7, 2015 by [Y-29]Silky
