FONS Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Hi, i'm trying to make a video recording with shadowplay a flight record, but the track ir movement is a bit "chunky" when i move the head slow. Is there any way of solving this, or at least minimizing this bug?
FONS Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 Just cut a part of the video to show the issue. Saw more people with this problem even with Natural Point "Track IR 5", so i hope someone here can help me to solve this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0TFyMlGzQs
HippyDruid Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Hmm, that video doesn't seem to be a very good example of your problem. It's hard to discern what your issue is when the plane is moving around and your only making minor head movements. Anyway. I do understand the issue so here are some suggestions. Have you tried F7 - Precision mode while you're recording? What are your motion control settings on? (top left, under the picture of the trackir) Have you tried different recording software? DxTory? MSI Afterburner and others? Do you still have the same issue? Clean your TrackIR camera, wipe off the dust. If you fix your problem, don't forget to post your solution! Good Luck!
FONS Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 This video is in fact a very good example xD. I can assure you, every step you see, is made by the in-game flight recorder, of course the plane vibrates, but there are micro-steps like each second when i barely move my head that are so annoying. And easily noticeable if you watch it at 1080p and focus on the reticle, more at the end of the video. I don't know what's that about F7 precision model while recording, will search about that and test it. I just press LCtrl+R to record while on flight. I don't use exactly the Natural Point Track IR software, i use a 3 IR led cap and FaceTracknoIR, that works perfectly in this game, and in every other game. And for example DCS: World, that has the same in-game flight recorder, based on events and not recording the screen, didn't give me such issues ever. As i say, if i record with shadowplay directly when flying instead of recording a clip already recorded with the in-game flight recorder, i don't get any issue. This is coming from the in-game recorder and i have seen a youtuber with this issue with Track IR, but in one of the early versions... Thanks for the reply, will test the things above, if not will try reinstalling the game. And if i get anything of course i will post here what solved it. If someone knows about more people that had this problem and solved it please tell me. Regards. Gonna try all that and see if i get something. If i wanted to reinstall the game, do i have to do any backup to not loose my progression or is it saved on the cloud?
=LD=Penshoon Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Can't watch your posted video as I'm pretty far from civilization right now but I have also noticed the tiny jerks in the headtracking on recorded tracks. I'm just happy it records my head movement at all tbh! Capturing live footage definitely gives me much smoother headtracking in videos but I never have action capturing live due to the performance hit and lack of diskspace.
SharpeXB Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 If i wanted to reinstall the game, do i have to do any backup to not loose my progression or is it saved on the cloud? Yes your progression (unlocks, rank etc) is saved on the Cloud. The only thing you need to save when reinstalling is maybe your input folder if you don't want to reassign all your controls. And skins, missions etc that you may have downloaded.
FONS Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 Ok thaks for the info. How can i know if i have F7 "Precision mode enabled"? If i record directly the gameplay, as it records my screen and i don't get the tracker steps there, the footage also doesn't get it. As you can see, there's more people with this issue, as i have watched a video few days ago with a guys saying this, but didn't managed to find it... but you can see that also "=LD=Penshoon" has this issues. I am going to reinstall both game and tracker software "Facetracknoir" to see if this issue goes away. Also will try that about F7, but i tested it yesterday and i really don't know when it's enabled and when it's disabled...
FONS Posted July 2, 2015 Author Posted July 2, 2015 (edited) It's ver weird, because as you can see in this video, i think this guy is using buttons to move his head, and he also gets the weird micro-steps... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFcK9aqvN2s Edited July 2, 2015 by FONS
FONS Posted July 3, 2015 Author Posted July 3, 2015 Ok, i think i managed to solve the chunky tracker input on the in-game flight records, i say i managed because i tested it in a very short period of time, but the flight record looked correct. I had the bad luck of being infected by a big virus few days ago, could be a trojan, that managed to traspass my antivirus and still don't know how i got it. But that affected the communication between my processor cores, with the consecuent BSOD's, and had to reinstall the OS. So after the reinstall, i reinstalled FaceTrackNoIR, Il-2, as it is in other HDD, personnally decided to reinstall it too, just in case. The only things that changed from the previous setup was: Initially the facetracknoir didn't recognized the game, tried to add the line to the supportedgames.csv, with no success, so had to enable inside the il-2 folder a thing called "oldtrackir" to 1, so the ftnoir was showing that BoS was Rinse of Flight. This time, thinking in why some people had the BoS recgnized by FTNOIR to work just with the .csv line, i discovered, that not only you have to add that line with Excel, but you have to add it in the correct row. You can appreciate that, for example, the game with number 48, is in the row number 49, so as BoS is the game 484, you have to add the line in the row number 485. Appart from that, i have the web version of the game. Previously i added the game to steam as a "non steam game" and created a shortcut from steam, to make my friends know when i play it. Now, the tests i did were without adding it to Steam. Maybe the steam overlay or something have something to do with this, but what i think the problem was, it's that now the ftnoir gets the propper id of the game, and doesn't think anymore it's rinse of flight. I will do more tests, and will test if it works correctly if i add it to Steam, because it looks that the problem was the .csv file.
