Guest deleted@50488 Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Today I am picking an inexpensive TM 16000, which supposedly uses the same HAL sensor technology in the top Warthog series... I am presently using an old, half functional, x52 Pro, which has lost all of the buttons in the stick unit. It still works after 7 yrs of continuous use, but those buttons and POVs not working pretty much limit my ability to properly fight those hot air duels at the Online Il2 BoS servers :-) I am planning to use the HOTAS module of the Saitek X52 Pro, and the TM 16000 as the stick + buttons on it .... Anyone with a similar mixed setup ? What are your opinions regarding the TM 16000 ? Thx
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 TM16000 is a great bang-for-the-buck stick and some of the best v-pilots out there are using it (JG4_Karaya and Reinhart definitely do). You should have no trouble using both pieces assuming you are doing all programming from the in-game GUI.
Guest deleted@50488 Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Exactly my plan Adler :-) Just picked it from the store - if only my working day didn't have to last another 4 hrs :-/
Dakpilot Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Always keep a look out on ebay or similar for a used MSFFB2 cant go wrong, and if you don't get on with it you can sell it on again easily, if you enjoy flight sims you owe yourself to give one a try at least once Cheers Dakpilot
Guest deleted@50488 Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I know Dakpilot, and I keep searching for one ;-)
Sokol1 Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 (edited) I am planning to use the HOTAS module of the Saitek X52 Pro, and the TM 16000 as the stick + buttons on it .... Anyone with a similar mixed setup ? The only "drawnback" (?) of this custom HOTAS is that was not possible using the key mapper software (TARGET or Saitek) for both - what some "virpilovs" enjoy play* with, but in a game "less keys is better" like BoS is needles, just set the buttons in game GUI. Anyway you can use the TARGET to experiment with axis response curve for T.16000M. If you add a Saitek Quadrant (low cost) in this HOTAS you have better overall functionality for WWII planes than with the hyped Warthog. T.16000M know issue (on some units) a mechanical end course deadzone, the sensor reach his maximum reading before the stick reach his maximum movement (X or Y), good to cause stall. Solution, open the base a unscrew a bit the the bolts that fit the coil (see related topic in Eagle forum). * If you like I suggest Xpadder (9$) as alternative to use 2 softwares, ease to use GUI, no MS Framework usage like the original softwares (so no CTD), low memory usage (<20k), can be configured/reconfigured "on the fly" (Alt+Tab). Example, with the crazy Mig-21 landing gear control: http://s29.postimg.org/o5hetz9xi/Mig_21_Gear.jpg Edited June 30, 2015 by Sokol1
Cat_Astrophe Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I've used a mixed setup of X52 throttle with other joysticks when my stick itself became unusable, so that is possible and even practical. Easy way for a person to add a throttle arrangement if they don't have one. I've gone thru multiple X52 sticks but the throttles have never failed me.
