1./KG4_EKat Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I'm having a little trouble setting-up my key maps in CH Control Manager (CM). IL2 BoS doesn't seem to recognize when I set combo keys like RALT + b (dive brakes), for example. I know there's a fix for it. Just hoping it's commonly known. Thanks for any help! EKat
dburne Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 May be related to the same reason that problem shows itself in my Warthog and TARGET software. It emulates the key combinations at the same time, or pretty darn close, and BOS does not recognize that as two individual key presses. I am not familiar with the CH software, I know in the TARGET software I had to go in and set a slight delay, like 50 ms, between the two key presses for BOS to recognize it appropriately. See if there is a way in the CH software to put a slight delay in between the key presses...
1./KG4_EKat Posted June 27, 2015 Author Posted June 27, 2015 Hey dburne, Yes indeed. I tried the CH Control Manager's 'record' feature to record the combo keystrokes and the CM program selectively inserted a 'hold' command. That seems to have helped as I can now get more of the combo commands to work. I'll insert the hold manually in the future. Thanks for the suggestion! EKat

You need to also put a CHARDLY command between the keypresses, like this: HOLD LALT CHARDLY b. The CHARDLY command is an abbreviation for Character Delay and gives the controller enough time to recognize both keypresses. The HOLD command just tells Control Manager to hold down the first key while the second key is pressed. In the example above, if one doesn't use the CHARDLY command, then it is likely the game will release the Left Alt key before also pressing down the b key. Edited June 27, 2015 by LukeFF 1

But I'm so glad I found it! Putting in the character delay into every command file line that involved holding a modifier key and pressing another key solved many instances of issues that I have been pulling my hair out over with the Control Manager software. THANK YOU!!!
