DeafBee Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I am a long time fan of the MSFFB2 joystick and use it for Rise Of Flight and Il2 Battle Of Stalingrad. I have been looking into different mods for the joystick. Especially into making the stick longer. Inspired by Quax' simpel mod, but in my case keeping the handle from the joystick. At first I tried having same lenght as Quax version above, but realised that this did not work since you will have to move your arms too long out from your position. I have now shortend the lenght of the stick, and found a lenght which I think is perfect, still having the accuracy and precision from a longer stick. SInce I have 2 spares of the MSFFB2 joystick, I have even looked into the amazing mod, where the guy builds 2 x MSFFB2 together, and end up having a stronger Force Feedback: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3494855/all/Two_MS_FFB2_merged_into_one_wi Problem with the mod linked above, is that unlike DCS, IL2 Battle Of Stalingrad wont sync the joysticks. I will post pictures of my final stick very soon. 1
Bando Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Looking good. I did lengthen my MSFF2 with a stick of wood, just to get some proof of concept. I ended up buying a warthog and Sahaj's 20 cm extension. Works great. Good luck on your project.
J2_Trupobaw Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I was long thinking about that, but always was worried about extra strain on motors from increased stick weight. Any insight into that? How is the feedback effect and shaking now that motors must move a longer stick?

I was very close to buy the Warthog myself and get the extension. I might one day do that, but I love the Force Feedback so much. I was long thinking about that, but always was worried about extra strain on motors from increased stick weight. Any insight into that? How is the feedback effect and shaking now that motors must move a longer stick? The motors are surprisingly strong in MSFFB2, but thats also the reason I kept the original light weight handle. The shaking is lower with increased stick lenght, but not that much really. I tried my stick in DCS and the Force Feedback in that even with the extension is amazing. In BOS the Force feedback is really low. I really hope the they will change that. Edited June 24, 2015 by 19te.Deafbee
Charlo-VR Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 SimFFB is a free piece of software that allows you to make stronger the FFB in any FFB stick. See top post with screenshot at https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=21608&page=8

Charlo-VR Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Ah, I have only used SimFFB with X-Plane earlier this week, so didn't realize it may not help with other titles.
kissklas Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Made an extension to my MSFFB2 as well. Works great. Next will be the base, so I don't need that bloody book under it:p Will also add some counter weight to get back some of the lost force feedback:)
