JaMz Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 (edited) Since you are reading this, we can assume that you have an interest in learning more about the AFJ. Please read the following and learn who and what the AFJ are.The Allied Fighter Jocks are an online group of friends who have a mutual interest in online gaming, especially flying WWII era war planes. We are committed to fun, teamwork, honor, and building a strong unit with a foundation of uncompromising skill and integrity. Back in 1998, Jane's Combat Flight Simulators released World War II Fighters. This game was based on English, North American, and German planes that fought in the European Theater from 1944 through 1945. Being one of the first flying simulators with a very strong online component, Jane's Combat Net soon gathered a very large amount of people from all over the world. Very shortly after this, the individual players started the Squadrons, and where there are teams, there will be competition. They created the Allied Fighter Jocks!Eight squadrons competed in the first AOW. They were the AFJ, 222, 365th, JG26, 663rd, 64th, ACS, and JG2. Right from the beginning, the AFJ showed how teamwork and camaraderie paid off by winning the first round of AOW. We continued to win every round we competed in, for a total of 9 out of 10 rounds. For Sixteen years pilots have come and gone, rotating through tours of duty waiting for the game that ignites the spark of the AFJ once more Many pilots have contributed to the success of the AFJ, too many to list. Their tactics and teamwork has been passed down throughout the years. This has created the foundation of the AFJ's flying style. In 2001 a new combat based flight simulator hit the shelves called IL2 Sturmovik from 1C Maddox and Ubisoft, based on the Eastern Front of WWII. German and Soviet air forces go head to head in the skies of Eastern Europe. IL2 was a new challenge for the AFJ. Many pilots jumped right into IL2, where as some stayed behind in Jane's WW2 Fighters. The AFJ IL-2 members took their combat experience and applied it to this new arena, turning their efforts into two Air Dominance Competition victories. The following are the principles, which the AFJ is founded:Our main goal is to have fun, doing with friends what we all love to do: fly and fight online simulators. We will not forget the AFJ past, so it is imperative for us to invite only pilots that fulfil the AFJ standards:- Exceptional behaviour on each and every public lobby or forum.- A gentlemanly attitude of chivalry and fair play in the matches we compete and practice.- A good sense of humour and friendship. If you believe you have what it takes to be a part of the AFJ please contact one of the members of AFJ OR please use our Official Steam Group Page Allied Fighter Jocks and leave a message on the forum thereThe AFJ SpiritSemper Invictus, Long Live the Fighters!=AFJ=JaMzA Sample Video from our many il1946 competition videos on You Tube, Dated but still very much enjoyable...Long Live the WW2 Sims ~S~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=C2KSh7fa3rg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHdKWDm24c4 Edited October 18, 2013 by Jamz
