Mungee Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 I don't know what I've done, but my cockpit view is now skewed to one side (see attached pic). I've tried moving the camera left and right and this doesn't seem to help the skew effect. I use Track IR and when I press F12 (centre view) this is what I get (see attached pic) - with the gun-sight's cross-hairs extremely hard to access. It's almost as if the whole aircraft's fuselage has been skewed to the left!! Any advice on rectifying this would be appreciated.
Mungee Posted June 16, 2015 Author Posted June 16, 2015 To illustrate my problem - the attached pic was taken after pressing NP 5 (Reset Camera) and then tracking immediately downwards - you can see that the aircraft is point to the left (port).
Reflected Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Move your head to the desired position then press F10 - reset viewpoint. Then, every time you press F12 on your trackIR, it will jump to this position.
SharpeXB Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) You probably pressed F10 by accident and reset the view. Here's the fix If you want to reset the default view for any plane, delete file \data\LuaScripts\snapviews\plane_name.svc For example, if you want to reset the default view in the Bf 109 F-4 cockpit then you've to delete file bf109f4.svc When you start the game then the view is fixed back to the default. Sokol1 Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 And remap that F-10 for Alt+F10... to avoid this 'accidents". Is the function "Head: save snap" in camera.
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) Alternatively go to your IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\LuaScripts\snapviews folder and delete lagg3s29.svc . That should reset your viwepoint to default, frontward view, which you can still change afterwards. Edited June 16, 2015 by Stab/JG26_5tuka
Mungee Posted June 16, 2015 Author Posted June 16, 2015 Many thanks, guys! Problem solved ... and recorded in my notebook for future reference
Bluespin4 Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 I have the same problem just started after the update (not sure if this is relevant) but in VR with a Reverb G2. I tried the suggestions above but nothing worked. Tried different aircraft but all had the "slanted" cockpit. Any help would be much appreciated.

Bluespin4 Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Yes, I tried that and changed the key from my Thrustmaster HOTAS joystick to a key on the throttle, but still no good. I have Track IR and that works perfectly after the reset advised above, but it does not seem to affect VR. Are there some VR files somewhere that should be reset in the same manner as done for Track IR do you think? Really annoying as the slant cockpit makes it useless in VR and it worked perfectly a week or so ago. Any help appreciated.
Bluespin4 Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 In desperation I have re-installed IL2 but still stuck with the "slanted" cockpit in VR. Wondering if there is some Windows setting or Steam VR which could be the cause.
Bluespin4 Posted June 21, 2021 Posted June 21, 2021 I guess that's it after enjoying IL2 for many years and VR for a few months VR for me is now no go. VR reset allows me to move the viewpoint about but nothing gets rid of the slanted cockpit. A second complete reinstall made no difference. Obviously there is something on my system that IL2 doesn't like but I have checked all the settings I think might affect it. MS2002 works fine as do other VR sims. It would be nice to know what in the code actually causes a slanted cockpit.
Bluespin4 Posted July 14, 2021 Posted July 14, 2021 Guys, a breakthrough! Thanks to a suggestion by the devs I tried a screen shot which was perfect! Hence it must be external. Reloaded WMR and bingo - no slanted cockpit. Hope it helps someone. 1
