Thanks a lot Luke. Must have been a tedious task and it must have costed you a lot of your spare time. A work of love it is.

Thanks! Yep, it was a lot of work, but I enjoy writing, so it's all good in the end.

I'm also very thankful and grateful to Jason for giving me the opportunity to help him out again.

Nice manual, congratulations.

A suggestion:

 Wheel brakes: to slow your plane down while on the ground, press the backslash key (Wheel brakes).

In Soviet aircraft, the amount of brake pressure applied to each wheel is dependent on your rudder position. For instance, if you have your rudder pushed to the left, more brake pressure will be applied to the left wheel than the right wheel, thus making it easier to steer to the left. In German aircraft, pressing the backslash key will apply equal brake pressure to both wheels, regardless of rudder position.

In all German aircraft, you can adjust the amount of brake pressure applied to each wheel, regardless of rudder position. To apply brake pressure to the left wheel, press the comma key; to apply pressure to the right wheel, press the period key. In this manner you can steer your aircraft more easily. You can also map these wheel brake inputs to the Left wheel brakes (German) and Right wheel brakes (German) axis assignments.

Perhaps this part was write before the last patch's, but worth mention that besides the method described above now the game allow brake in German planes in the same way that in Russians - press the brake key and move the rudder to side that desire block only one wheel.

This possibility is a big plus for people with twist rudder joystick - like most of entry level joystick (or X-52/X-55) - or use rudder pedal without toe brakes (VKB T-Rudder, Tm RCS/Elite).

Just bought the game after a week on War Thunder and need to get a feel for BoS.

The manual is very much appreciated.

Thank you!

Are you also working on a flight manual because who like me is totally new to the world of flight sims, this manual is not enough to learn to fly.

It's just a simulator manual and that's ok and probably also very usefull for all the people that already know how to fly all these airplanes, but not to the newcomers like me.

If you are not planning anything like that can you advice us some third party book or manual?

If have found a lot of useful tips and tutorial (like all Requiem's stuff, that I appreciate very much), but unfortunately I find all the documentation around very fragmented and I feel like most of the time I just put all pieces together and not actually learning. I'm still searching a complete manual for that.

Thanks for your time.

I am not aware of any sort of flying manual in the works at this point. Although, as you say that information about how to fly these planes can be fragmentary, I still think the best way to get your questions answered about how to fly these planes is to ask questions on these forums. This place is very active, and it typically isn't long before one has the answer they are looking for.

Thank you very very much, LukeFF, for the manual!

Some questions however are still not answered for me, especially the "Cameras" in the manual and the section "camera controls" in the settings.

1. Did I get it right that all settings in "cockpit view" and "Pilot head control" in settings of the game are unimportant for those who use TrackIR?

2. Would be nice, if you explained in detail the various settings under "camera controls" in a future version of the manual. I don't have the slightest idea what "Camera: free" means f. ex. or what is "camera: track". What means "Camera Operator: friendly" and what "Reset external free camera" and so on.

Tried to use the particular keyboard commands in game but nothing happened, no reaction.

Greetings Würger

In the map of the briefing there are waypoints for your flight path. From one way point to another I find information to the distance such as: 52 km, 2:29 minutes. It's not clear however which speed you mean when calculating 2:29 minutes for the distance. Can't find anything to this in the manual.

I don't think anyone knows right now what that means.  Probably it's referring to cruise speed.

You can still adjust your head position (with the Page Up, Page Down, etc., key bindings) but once you turn on TrackIR then yes, all of those other key bindings don't really mean much.

I will keep that in mind. :)

Before you already play this sim, it is simply superb just for the reason you can contact and interact with the devs. Thanks, LukeFF!!

If you haven't found it already, I think this classic will help you, Galen104: In Pursuit: A Pilot's Guide to Online Air Combat by Johan Kylander.
