Yes, Chuck's performance chart was what I had in mind.  I fly with it on my desk in front of me.

When we designed the ROF manual we asked O_Taipan if we could add his performance chart.  He approved and it became Appendix D of the ROF manual.

If you're talking about his performance graph (I assume that's what you're referring to, but maybe not), as far as I know it's 'unsanctioned' by the powers that be and therefore meaningless - unless you know for a fact that his figures are extrapolated directly from the game.

I may be wrong, but I think this is exactly how Chuck makes his guides. He tests out what actually works within the sim and then puts it on a chart.

Well, if it's taken directly from the game and the devs are happy it's accurate then they should put it in the manual.  I'd have to say I'd be a bit surprised if it is because it would've required a huge amount of work but if it is then yeah, I for one would be happy to see it included.

I can't remember if il2 56 did or not, but RoF at least had some of the basic performance characteristics published online.

So, just because others don't have this data in the manual you don't have to as well?

If we all practised this way of thinking we wouldn't get very far, someone has to lead, use their initiative, raise standards  and strive to be the best.

I would prefer to be considered unique, rather than just be the same as all the others.

I'd much prefer BoS to lead when it comes to simulating air combat rather than just having the best manual.

But then again I have strange priorities.

I wasn't meaning just in the manual, but by that way of thinking that it may encompass all of your work.

Yet everyone keeps telling us to be more like 1946. We did do something unique here and guys like you vilify us for it. Then when I compare something to previous titles you claim we shouldn't do that. Please make up your mind..

I see you just issued an invitation for test pilots.

I wish Chuck was available, but  he recently made available some great guides for DCS he mentioned he would be rather busy during the next months :-/

The graphs in Chuck's guide -- as he fairly states -- were made by Matt.
