Necroing a really old thread here, but I just watched a new IL-2 video and was shaken when I HEARD flak booming!!!

I realized that I have hardly ever heard a flak sounds in this game. I found this thread but these tricks do not work for me. Any newer solutions for this sort of a problem?

Is it some sort of a technical problem for some users?
Sometimes when not realizing I enter enemy territory the first flak can be scary with the sound it makes, at least on my computer.

Curious. I don't recall hearing flak... though I do "feel" the concussions and hear some of the frags hitting the plane's skin.

I remember Finnish Blenheim gunner say that you couldn't hear the flak explosions over the engine noise, unless it exploded very close.

I’d recommend the AA mod if you want a little more flak in your life. See it. Hear it. Touch it. A lot.

I can't hear the 250kg bomb explosion either. I don't even know if it went off until I swing around to see the damage.

Should be so loud you could feel it.
