Tektolnes Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 (edited) The guys who made Project Reality are doing a brand new game - it's on KS at the moment: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/offworldindustries/squad?ref=discovery They've been working on it for a while already. Looks good so far and given their long experience with PR Squad should strike a good balance between realism and fun while also giving 50 v 50 online MP. For those who back at $70 or higher you'll be able to get EA in 4-6 weeks. Edited June 5, 2015 by Tektolnes
IRRE_Belmont Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 fps are totally ruined by cheaters at least in piloting games cheating is not that decisive in a 52k players racing leaderboard a hacker is second to me but i accept when playing counterstrikle for example that im facing 90% hackers and have to adapt my tactics to it and lose badly I backed the game as well, you should try Project Reality, it's quite good !
Tektolnes Posted June 6, 2015 Author Posted June 6, 2015 PR is now stand alone too since the 1.3 release recently - no install of BF2 required.
johncage Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 backed ground branch instead. proven pedigree+makers of ghost recon and rainbow six. the real deal. squad looks like another cash in on the indie multiplayer pseudo realism combined arms shooter. arma 3 clone fl.
IRRE_Belmont Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 backed ground branch instead. proven pedigree+makers of ghost recon and rainbow six. the real deal. squad looks like another cash in on the indie multiplayer pseudo realism combined arms shooter. arma 3 clone fl. Squad is made by a good team with renown (Project Reality, TAC BF for ArmA III), and is likely to suceed, Ground branch didn't even finish his kickstarter
Tektolnes Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 Ground branch looks like it could be good as well. But it's a very different focus to Squad. GB will have a small team focus whereas Squad will be 50 v 50 PvP. With PR the guys were able to strike a good balance between realism and fun. They know the formula that works and I'd be confident they can deliver. One of the problems with GB is that it's basically just 2 or 3 guys working on it in their spare time over the past 6+ years. Squad has about 20 contributors. While both have a proven track record you'll be playing Squad long before GB most likely. There's already a good few early pre-alpha videos on YouTube showing MP combat: https://youtu.be/NcgJ5UubU1w https://youtu.be/SYddE2v6RKo
Chuck_Owl Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Ground Branch and SQUAD both seem like interesting alternatives. I'd really like to see maps for SQUAD like Afghanistan, or even Vietnam! That would be really, really awesome!
Chuck_Owl Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Believe it or not, it's quite a lot of fun!
Cybermat47 Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Believe it or not, it's quite a lot of fun! A game? Fun?! Why, whatever will you say next?
71st_AH_Hooves Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I backed this as well, and this recent patch has cleaned up the infantry weapons alot, its a good time, though getting a bit boring with lack of content (thats alpha for you). The other issue is that this game requires a large portion of your team to not only be competent, but willing to follow the squad leaders or your team gets steam rolled. So its a case of needing about 7 of 10 things to go absolutely right to have a decent experience.
=EXPEND=Capt_Yorkshire Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Project reality has kept me happy for 10 years such a great game

TP_Jacko Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 We sorely need a good FPS we had great fun with Call of Duty WoW
johncage Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Squad is made by a good team with renown (Project Reality, TAC BF for ArmA III), and is likely to suceed, Ground branch didn't even finish his kickstarter because everyone knows kickstarter success is a measurement of quality of development. *cough* star citizens *cough* going bankrupt *cough* and the millions of minecraft and indie games on kickstarter that got funded are definitely going to be good and interesting games. ground branch didn't get funded because people are ignorant as fuck. end of story. most people today probably think rainbow six vegas was the first rainbow six game.
=362nd_FS=RoflSeal Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Star Citizen hasn't gone bankrupt though.
steppenwolf Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Many things in Squad are pretty basic(character animations especially), but I thought the reactions these grenade particle effects get from different surfaces were nice(e.g., leaves, embers, tiny shrapnel flashes, structure dust).
Sokol1 Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 (edited) In "Battlefield1" times, may not be of interest to many, anyway Squad free weekend and sales (50% OFF). http://store.steampowered.com/app/393380?snr=1_41_4__42 Game still EA. Edited November 10, 2016 by Sokol1
Jade_Monkey Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Two different games, two types of fun. I like them both. I dont think there is a need to pick sides.
