Jade_Monkey Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Hi everyone, I just had a quick question. The "Seed when downloaded" checkbox keeps reactivating every time i open the launcher. The seeding causes Malwarebytes to notify me about outgoing connections with popups and it's breaking the immersion in the game. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do from the Malwarebytes side because each time it recognizes it as a new connection and needs to notify me. Is there any way to permanently deactivate the Seed when downloaded box? Thanks!
1CGS LukeFF Posted May 30, 2015 1CGS Posted May 30, 2015 (edited) You can just bypass the launcher screen if you want by placing a shortcut to il2.exe on your desktop / taskbar / start menu. I do the same thing with Rise of Flight. (Of course, you would still need to run the launcher when there's an update to the game). Edited May 30, 2015 by LukeFF 2
SCG_Neun Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 I'm not that computer savvy...but what is the reason behind that seeder option....? Doesn't it kind of set you up for computer security problems?

There are Seeder and Leecher that download the game from you. Security problems, we only downloading from you. Very nice to share with us the game. If you wish you can sent us more.......... 1

I come frequently to the forum, so I'll know when to expect an update. Thanks!

This ^^ I was going to start using the launcher because some have indicated it can be used as an ersatz lobby. Probably stick to the shortcut method now that I know about popups and such. I update manually as I keep abreast of them through the forum. I personally keep the seeder on to benefit the community for the first 24 hours after an update then manually turn it off after that. There have been a couple threads on the seeding v security debate. It is a bit of a resource hog if you have a minimum spec machine. As far as I can tell there probably isn't a security concern but it's not my field of expertise.
