New Paccus Hawk hydraulic forcefeedback joystick on the way

Hi, these guys at Paccus have started mentioning about their 'more quiet'? 'new Hawk' ( http://www.paccus.com/the-new-hawk ). A full and hardcore industrial design downsized for demanding simmers like us.  Rumble, rumble, ... No reference to the new design, new features or improved performance details. Lets forget about the price. So far only this video:

A couple of weeks ago I contacted them. This JS is pure for industrial, despite the photo on there website no gaming JS.

Really? And the video? If you are right, it's a sad pity they are fleeing from the simming market. There is not and I am afraid there won't be nothing like the Hawk if they leave this promising project now. I have been expecting to get one of these joys for some years and once I have the savings (and, BTW, I got nuts enough) you say they have their mind elsewhere? Frustration is the word I was looking for.

I did have the same feeling like you, finally a good FFB joystick design, not a plastic child toy as you will have noticed at some other [no FFB] products. 

 

Here is the message from Pacus, just translate it from Dutch to your native language. 

 

Voorlopig hebben wij als Paccus team besloten ons eerst op een paar professionele industriële klanten te concentreren. Hiermee hopen we de ervaring en fondsen te verzamelen om uiteindelijk ook een consumenten variant te kunnen gaan leveren. Het huidige model is als proto-type in gebruik bij een paar universiteiten die er vooral onderzoek mee doen. Deze is echter veel te duur om te maken en voldoet dan nog maar net aan onze eisen. Het is nog niet duidelijk wanneer de consumenten stick klaar zal zijn. Ik verwacht dat dit nog zeker een jaar gaat duren.

 

De industriële variant is op een haar na klaar en voldoet ruimschoots aan alle voorwaarden. Wij verwachten nog voor de zomer met verkoop activiteiten te beginnen. Om je een idee te geven heb ik een brochure in de bijlage gedaan. (Hier hangt een nogal fors prijskaartje aan en is ook niet bedoeld voor particulier gebruik.)

Zodra de nieuwe variant klaar is passen we ook de website aan, want die is onderhand wel aardig verouderd. Mijn excuses voor eventuele verwarring.

OK Dutch2, thanks for the clarification via the message. It looks clear the industrial way is the one to follow for Bart & the Paccus team in order to get knowhow and cash to dive back into the simming market with better expectations to hit the sweet spot from the begining.

 

So, hope we'll get news from them again, better sooner than later.
