Hi

Iv'e set my throttle to the axis on my T flight HOTAS x but it seems to only operate on 100% or 0%. If i push it forward it just rushes to 100 and if i pull it back past the half way mark it just quickly rushes to 0!

so i can either stall or burn out my engine!

Ive tried setting the throttle axis to keys and it does the same thing, tap the increase throttle button and it goes to 100, tap the lower key and it goes to 0%. I have had it working in the past.

It all works fine in the calibration menus in windows, normal function. I also have the latest driver, reinstalled it twice!

It also works fine in warthunder, no problems at all, so its an issue with BoS or something random

Any help or ideas of things to try would be muchly appreciated

It's the F4, I haven't tried any other planes actually. I only play on normal mode

I don't know if this will help with the issue you are describing, but maybe try reassigning the axis to the stick itself, not in BOS settings, and use the custom mapped preset instead of the default stick mapping.  I had to do this because my throttle was inverted from the way I wanted it to be (push full up for 100%) and the default mapping had pull down for 100%.   I described my issue in this post from a few months back:

I had the same issue with my Thrustmaster T Flight Hotas X default throttle setup being inverted for some reason...and everytime I would unplug it and then reattach it would default to the inverted throttle.  Even though I had originally inverted BOS throttle axis settings to counteract this, each time this would happen I would have to go back into BOS settings and then re-invert (word?) again the BOS throttle to counteract again.  This was extremely annoying and I often would forget to change BOS settings and full throttle right off the unpause when it should be at idle...very frustrating... until I finally read through the manual that came with the stick and followed a kind of confusing series of button presses to then be able to save a custom preset and set the axis however you want.  The custom preset gets saved to memory within the stick so it will not be lost when unplugged.  I believe most sticks either have this sort of procedure or come with a windows based mapping program that stores custom mappings to your PC itself.  However, as a final note, when unplugging and plugging stick back in, it still defaults to the sticks original inverted mapping, but now I just have to push the preset button to load my custom mapping and a light next to the button lights up to show it is active and not default.  Anyway, I hope this might help someone else avoid some frustration with any weird default setups.

thx for the quick responses guys.

I have set up the mapping feature now, thanks to porkman which fixes the inverted throttle issue. But still no success with the throttle bug.

I switched it to '4 axis mode' last night and the throttle actually worked normally for about 10 seconds then reverted back to the bug again, but Im unable to repeat it this morning unfortunately. Which means it is probably something to do with the stick itself.

Never had that issue with mine (serving me for 5 years, though it didnt last until BoS came) but I also didn't use any driver software whatsoever. Only default windows driver, nothing more.

I can't really help but to suggest to remove the Thrustmaster driver and run it as plug & play.

Also (stupid question, but nessecary), is your throttle ingame mapped on multiple axis/buttons? If yes delete all but your throttle axis mapping.

It's on pc setting

I deleted the thrustmaster driver, reset and recalibrated all the axis'. But still no fix. I have no internet atm but will try a fresh reinstall of BoS in the next few days and see if that has any effect.

Again I tried using the keyboard for throttle but that doesn't change it at all.

This indicate problem in your game installation, I try here and using keys (1,2) and  the throttle animation response is progressively.

ATA and RPM increase don't occur in the same way, these have his particular response curves.

Despite some people think that engine response to throttle should be 0,1,2....100%, is not.

BF 109 G have a issue (?) that engine only respond for joystick throttle in the last third of this movement, but the animation correspond to joystick throttle, or if one are in 50% the other too are.

problem solved!

So i got my internet back today and so did a full re download from steam, then had to manually delete the 'input' folder, and after verification it worked! throttle is as it should be so i can now get myself off war thunder and into a decent sim!

Thx for the help guys, sorry that is was such a simple problem to fix in the end

Hello people,

it´s three and a half years later and I encountered this bug now. I also use Thrustmaster T-Flight hotas, and had no problems whatsoever. A couple of days ago I wanted to start a new campaign on the russian side with the Lagg-3 (I only have Battle of Stalingrad, no expansions). This is where the problem started, standing parked on the airfield wouldn´t affect the throttle and the response was as usual, 50% throttleposition on the hotas equals 50% throttle ingame, but as soon as I get into the air I have this throttlebug where if I move the stick slightly forward it ups the throttle to 100%, and if I move the throttle down just a bit it throttles down to 0%, theres no inbetween. Please help, I tried the solutions above, but it still persists, "I´m at the end of my latin" like a german would say XD

I realize this is an old thread, however I'm having the same problem with my TFlight Hotas 4. When I take off the throttle responds fine. Back and forth from 0 to 100% works, I can put it at 75% or where ever and it stays. I go to full throttle to take off and after a second or so all I get from the throttle is 100% or 0%. Not real good for landings or engine in flight. Started at altitude (no takeoff), and same thing after a second. If I move the throttle to center, then slowly move back, it decreases in increments, but when I move a tad faster it goes back to 100% or 0%. I can almost fly by slowing adjusting throttle.  This joystick and throttle are brand new - and appear to work fine in the windows game controller app.

As a real "nube", (as my grandson calls me), I'm not sure how this flight sim is suppose to work, but I doubt having a throttle like this is correct. It looks like this issue was not really solved other than by Superfly29r reinstalling from steam and deleting the 'input' folder. So I would like to try that, but don't know how. I bought FC and BOS from steam, and all the rest of the Great Battles from the game maker.

1. How do I uninstall from steam, and delete the 'input' folder? Or can I just delete the 'input' folder and where is it?

2. Do I need to uninstall all the rest of my Great Battles and collector planes that I bought from the game publisher?

3. Is it worth it to buy a better joystick? If so, which would you suggest for an old man on a budget?

Your help would really be appreciated. Flying at full throttle is fun for a short amount of time but ------ makes it hard to learn how to fly, and landings - wow, what a mess.
