So.... I can transfer My account to steam... I would like to know pros and cons from u guys.

As far as I know there are two advantages

  1. Nice and easy to have all games on Steam (yes, I have most of them there)
  2. Use Steam's built in streamer.. it really works great with very little - if at all - loss of fps

However, in regards to #2. I have "connected" IL2 as a "Non-steam"-game into Steam; thus I get the benefits of streaming AND SHIFT-tab UI of steam..

so why should I?

I haven't and can't see any benefit to doing so but I did link it as a non steam game so friends can see when I am in BOS.

Its pure personal preference. Maybe your friends see you on and ask about the game?

I think the main benifit is that u will see who is playing what on steam.

You can add one more free game to your Steam library. Why hesitate?

RoF used the Amazon cloud service based in North Virginia so I'm assuming BoS does the same. If you've played RoF you'll recall being locked out of Multiplayer and Campaign for a few days when Amazon entire system went down.

I think steam downloads actually appear few hours after regular BoS users get their update. And that steam needs lots of free space to cache updates/ On the other hand, steam never gives me the "failed to update, go find and delete cached files to proceed" error.

A side effect of playing on steam is that your flying hours show in steam statistics, so game with mostly non-steam users that appears dead on steam appears less dead. I'm always using steam client for that reason.

For me personally, main benefit comes from fast download speeds when I have to patch up or re-download the game.

Also like to have settings and config files stored in cloud, but BOS/ROF don't support this unlike many other games...

You can have BOTH.

No need to choose.

When you get the steam key, you dont lose the current standalone version.

I have both installed in my rig and they both work fine.

Just remember to import your inputs.

Don't be mislead by this. Yes, both clients work, but you can't buy aircraft on 777 store if you converted to steam version. You got to buy steam DLC's now trough steam to activate extra content such as aircraft (well not that important for you that own premium versions already, but standard versions users must buy premium planes according to the version they own).

But yes, you can log into any of two installations with same account much like in ROF.

Ah OK thanks for the clarification. I haven't switched to steam and have no reason to so will stick to the 777 store for now.
